I had a very poor experience with Gateway International. Their team is highly unprofessional and misleading. At the time of enquiry, they make big promises, but once payment is done, the support quality drops completely.
There was lack of transparency, delayed responses, and confusing guidance. Important information was either hidden or communicated very late, which caused unnecessary stress and financial loss. Whenever I asked genuine questions, I received vague answers or no response at all.
They seem more focused on collecting fees rather than genuinely helping students/clients. I would strongly advise others to think twice and do proper research before trusting Gateway International.

I interacted with Gateway International after seeing ads claiming “Top universities” and “₹10 lakh cost”. What I experienced, and what becomes obvious when the reviews are read closely, raises serious concerns about transparency and ethics.
First, about the reviews themselves:
Almost all recent 5-star reviews are extremely long, highly emotional, and posted within the last one to two months. They follow a very similar structure, tone, and vocabulary, and nearly all name specific counsellors using identical praise patterns such as “from the very beginning”, “handled everything”, “stress-free journey”, and “treated me like family”.
In contrast, older one-star reviews, spread across multiple years, describe consistent problems. These include misinformation about eligibility, incorrect university recommendations, document handling mistakes, financial losses, refund issues, visa rejections, and abandonment after payment. This sharp contrast strongly suggests review engineering intended to bury genuine criticism, rather than organic improvement.
Second, about misleading cost claims:
When asked directly in writing, the consultancy admitted that the widely advertised figure refers only to tuition and not the total cost (And there was no transparency even on this figure). Living expenses, insurance, visa costs, housing, and other mandatory expenses are additional. However, this crucial clarification is not made explicit in their advertising, which creates a misleading price anchor for students and families making life-changing decisions.
Despite repeated calls and polite requests, I was unable to obtain a transparent, clear estimate of the total cost of studying abroad. This is the most basic requirement for responsible counselling.
Third, about incentives and counselling quality:
Students are repeatedly pushed toward a narrow set of private institutions, while “free counselling” is emphasised. This model typically relies on university commissions, which creates a conflict of interest. As a result, students may be guided toward institutions that benefit the consultant rather than those best suited to the student’s profile or long-term career outcomes.
Notably, most positive reviews focus on hand-holding and emotional support, while negative reviews consistently report career-level harm. These include wrong guidance, missed opportunities, financial loss, and wasted time.
The core issue here is not friendliness but accountability.
Studying abroad is not a casual purchase. It involves years of a student’s life and tens of lakhs of family savings. Vague answers, delayed disclosures, and marketing built on ambiguity are unacceptable in this space.
Advice for students and parents:
• Ask for total cost, not just tuition, in writing
• Verify eligibility and fees directly from official university websites
• Be cautious of consultancies that avoid specifics until documents are shared
• Read older negative reviews carefully, as long-term patterns matter more than star counts
A high rating means little if transparency is missing. Please proceed with extreme caution.
