I’ve been searching for Chinese schools in Atlanta for a while and am so grateful that I found Gao Chinese Culture Academy for my kids!
In NYC, I grew up in a very traditional Chinese school, where the chalkboard and teacher were in the front, we sat in desks and weren’t allowed to move much, and learned the language and culture through repetition and memorization. That’s why it was important to our family to find a school that was going to make learning fun - and that’s exactly what GCCA does!
GCCA teaches the language and culture through play (hands-on activities, games, etc) and my kids LOVE it. My older daughter keeps asking to go back and I understand why! When we FaceTime with grandma, my daughter likes to share all the new vocabulary words that she is learning at GCCA - and popo is impressed! Gao 老師 and her team of super fun teachers are passionate about teaching Chinese. I love that the students are diverse and come from every corner of Georgia (and beyond). Whether you speak Chinese at home or not, GCCA is a wonderful place to have your kids to learn and have fun.
There are classes on the weekdays (afterschool program), weekends, and during school break camps (fall break, summer, etc) I’m so thrilled to have found our Chinese school home, on the first try!
If you’re thinking about enrolling your child, don’t blink. This is an amazing school.

GAO Chinese culture academy is the best Chinese learning experience. You get the best Chinese experience like you are actually in China. From the festivals to the cooking, to learning the language Gao teaches you like no other Chinese teacher will teach you!!!! We love her ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Authentic Chinese for toddlers, elementary children, middle school students and adults. Gao Laoshi has been our son’s Mandarin Chinese instructor for over eight years. She has taught him not only speak the language but also how to write it . The education doesn’t stop at the language. GCCA is about the culture equally, thus the name “Gao Chinese CULTURE” Academy”. Our son has performed at Chinese (Lunar) New Year Festivals, various events & for his peers. He has even had a birthday at GCCA with friends and classmates that do not speak Chinese. Our party host played Chinese games with the adults encouraging fun for all ages.
We were concerned that he would lose interest in the language as he’s gotten older however it has bern the opposite. As he grows, so does his understanding of the magnitude that being polyglot plays in achievement, confidence and opportunity..
Thank you to all talented teachers at GCCA for not only making learning interesting and fun but also generally carrying for child and our family. We look forward to trips to China, more years of lessons, summer camp and field trip adventures

Our daughter (2.5 yo) loves Gao Laoshi and coming to Chinese class! This is more (and so much more interactive) than the Chinese school you’re familiar with. Gao Laoshi is easy to work and truly cares about the students.
There are so many fun activities that Gao Laoshi prepares. We attend a weekly Simply Beginners class and most recently a cooking classes. We made mooncakes while learning about important Chinese holidays and traditions. Such a fun place!

Excellent quality Chinese immersion programs for children! The lead teacher Gao Lao Shi is very kind yet firmly encouraging for my student to speak only Mandarin in class. He is an advanced speaker, and she adjusts assignments and creates classroom responsibilities for him to be challenged. I travel an hour from Gwinnett County for my son to attend school break and summer camps here (but traffic makes it impossible to attend after school program), and other parents even travel from out of state!

This is the fourth week in June and July 2024 that our 9yo attended summer camp at Gao Chinese Culture Academy. She thoroughly enjoys the lessons, teachers, and most of all, the friends she made there. Aside from prior summer camps (’23 & ’22), we have also attended holiday camps and special culture-significant classes (e.g. mid-Autumn festival) as they occur throughout the year. Ms. Gao, along with the other teachers (Ms. Wang & Ms. Ida), does an absolutely Tremendous job for the children. Although the location is a bit farther than the other (sports) camps we attend, we gladly make the drive to Gao’s whenever we have availability as our 9yo just loves going there.
Being a native speaker of Chinese (as parents), our girl already has some speaking capability. She learned to recognize writing/characters at Gao’s. In addition, she learnt various culture-significant holidays/festivals in a hands-on manner (Gao’s utilize art and food prep to assists children’s learning) which is very effective for our child. As a matter of fact, some of these classes also reminded me of culture/history I had forgotten since childhood.
We are absolutely amazed at the level of Mandarin proficiency of the other children in class. We can see the immersion teaching in the classroom. The children’s pervasive skills in speaking/conversing and (Chinese) character recognition is breathtaking to us. I learned the same in a fully immersed environment back in Taiwan when I was growing up.
The church facility where the classrooms are housed is well-kept up and their playground is also another attraction for our 9yo. We Love Gao’s.

Your child is cultured and polite, and all the students are eager to be friends with her. During the class, she also assists the teachers to help the classmates.
Mrs. Gao is more than just a teacher . After my son’s first year of Summer camp he cried on the last day because he thought he would never see her again . We just completed our third year and he attends every single camp and attends two days a week as well after school . Whenever I pick him up it’s a game of hide and seek because he never wants to leave . She definitely makes learning fun and is very good with communicating my child’s needs .

We love this summer camp, my daughter had great experiences learning Chinese culture,and she had wonderful time at camp, Mrs Gao is best teacher，she is professional and nice . Employer are very friendly. Highly recommend this place.
