Central Cycles is more than 5 stars. The shop has everything you need from bike cleaning supplies like Muc Off to full suspension bike brands like Pivot. I was in town to ride the Dragon trail around Hardy Dam Pond and I rented a Pivot Mach 4. I was running late and Mervin stayed a little after hours to accommodate. Then he got my suspension dialed in and hooked me up by lending me a water bottle cage for my water bottle. If you’re looking for bike repair service, bike supplies, bike purchase, or a bike rental this LBS is such a gem. Mervin and his shop are everything a LBS is meant to be.
Just purchased the Urtopia Carbon Classic. I purchased from Central Cyles (Mervin) rather than directly on-line as he was knowledgeable about the product and was very considerate and patient during our numerous discussions. The bike arrived on time and was assembled flawlessly. I am looking forward to years of use and if I have any questions or concerns about the bike, I'm sure I will get great service and response from Central Cycles. I would highly recommend.

Brought my bike in for annual maintenance & adjustments. Great price for the work he did. He did a great job. No strong armed sales tactics - I thought I needed new tires, but after looking at them he said I didn't. Great inventory of bikes & accessories. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Service That Goes the Extra 150 Miles (Literally!)
From the moment Michael answered my call, I knew I was in good hands. I’m a pretty particular person when it comes to big purchases, and I had my heart set on a very specific bike that no one in metro Detroit seemed to have — and trust me, I tried half a dozen shops and called around everywhere.
Michael listened to my situation without hesitation and immediately said he’d talk to his father Jon to see if they could bring the bike in. Just a few hours later, I got a call back: they were making it happen. No pressure, no sales tactics — just genuine, can-do service.
A couple days later, I made the 3-hour drive out to Central Cycles, and it was worth every mile. Michael took fantastic care of me the entire time. I test rode the bike, talked through all the details, and ended up staying for hours while we fine-tuned everything. They even went so far as to take a dropper lever off another bike when mine wouldn’t fit — just to make sure I could ride out fully set up.
This shop doesn’t just sell bikes — they treat customers like real people and go far beyond what you'd expect. I can't recommend Central Cycles highly enough. If you're tired of the usual runaround and want service that truly stands out, this is the place.
Central Cycles is top notch. I have had two great experiences here. Joe helped me fix my mountain bike earlier in the summer and got it back into running condition. I enjoyed riding so much again, I just went back to purchase a gravel bike. Michael helped me to select what bikes I would probably enjoy. They were so knowledgeable, and I felt that they did a great job of answering all my questions. After purchase, I ended up realizing the handle-bars were a little wide for my frame, and they fixed it the next day within an hour. I went for a ride last night and am so happy with the bike I selected. I really just can't say enough about what a great experience I had. Go check them out!
Blown away by this bike shop. I flew up from Florida with my bike and didn’t pack the rear thru axle. I called everywhere in Grand Rapids and no one had what I needed. I called Central Cycles and these guys took one off a bike in inventory to help me out. I don’t think a single shop in GR even considered it. They went out of their way to help me out and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Super clean shop, great inventory of bikes, good out of way to check them out. A+
Stopped in there today as a recommendation from a colleague. I have a marin bicycle that was making a funny noise near back wheel. Joe took me right in and fixed the bike right away. He showed me exactly what was wrong with it and I found him to be extraordinarily helpful and friendly. I will be bringing my bicycle here for all repairs!
Joe And Michael are very nice to people, I'm very happy with the bike I selected from these 2 gentlemen, they also treat you with the upmost respect and if you take your bike to them to get fixed you know your in good hands, they also let you know when your bike is all done and ready to be picked up.
