FREVO was absolutely outstanding—do not miss this one! From the moment you walk in and view the art, the experience feels special, intimate, thoughtful, and truly unique. The food was exceptional; I loved the flavors and ingredients, and each course was beautifully executed and intentional. The staff was outstanding—warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Watching them work was a show in and of itself, with everything flowing seamlessly without anyone missing a beat. I especially loved that they noticed I’m left-handed and adjusted accordingly—those small, thoughtful details truly set this place apart. Music was great and at the perfect volume. This is an NYC spot not to be missed, whether you’re a local or visiting. I can’t wait to go back! FREVO should have two Michelin stars. One star is impressive but they are more than that.

This is an outstanding restaurant and deserves 3 Michelin stars though it’s unpretentious - each course was a flavor bomb, inventive and delicious. Service and ambiance created a cozy, romantic vibe.

Frevo is magic. Period.
Hidden behind an art gallery, the experience already special before you even sit down. Counter seating makes everything intimate and focused.
Chef’s precision, timing, flavors… everything is on point. Dishes are creative but never confusing. Each course makes sense, emotionally and technically.
Staff is incredibly polished but warm, explains with passion, not script.

Avoid at All Costs
One of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in years.
Unless you enjoy ice cream awkwardly forced into multiple savory courses (four of them, not just dessert), there is absolutely no reason to come here.
The meal began with a pretzel served with tofu and bottarga, apparently meant to replace proper bread and butter. No baguette. No real butter. Just confusion. Portions were laughable: one tiny cube of white seabass, one miniature round of meat, and two completely flavorless pieces of tuna. That’s not refinement it’s emptiness disguised as concept.
At these prices, service should be flawless. Instead, when asking the sommelier to explain the difference between two wines, the answer was literally: “It’s very difficult.” Unacceptable. If you can’t explain the wine, you shouldn’t be pouring it especially not at this level.
There was virtually no interaction throughout the meal. The chefs spent the entire time with their backs turned, ignoring guests completely, including at the end of the experience. Cold, disengaged, and borderline disrespectful.
This place charges luxury prices while delivering confusion, poor service, and zero hospitality.
A truly horrible experience. I can’t remember the last time I tipped only 10% but this earned it.
Do yourself a favor and spend your money literally anywhere else.

Of all the amazing tasting-menu restaurants in NYC, Frevo is the one I keep finding myself coming back to again and again. As soon as you enter the art gallery vestibule that hides this speakeasy-style restaurant, you know you’re in for a special and unique dining experience.
The creativity of the courses here are unmatched by anyone, short of Atomix. Every dish I’ve ever had at Frevo is beautiful, surprising, and (most importantly) delicious.
The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff is also a standout of Frevo. Another reason I keep coming back is because of them. Special shoutout to Quentin!
Frevo is the kind of place where you know it will be a homerun every time you visit. And its cool ambiance and creative style will make you want to bring a friend to impress.
Would highly recommend a visit!

It was a fantastic dinner. The flavors and composition of each course made me look forward to the next dish as we were eating. It was a truly delightful experience. In particular, the doneness of the sea bass and the tenderloin was outstanding. All of the paired wines were excellent as well. 👍

Wir hatten in einem Bericht in Deutschland über New York von dem Restaurant gehört und zum Glück gleich eine Reservierung für 3 Personen vor Weihnachten gemacht. Unsere Plätze waren am Tresen, was dem gesamten Event einen besonderen Charakter verleiht. Man kommt, wenn man möchte, mit Tresennachbarn ins Gespräch, man ist als Gast quasi Teil des Geschehens, da die Teller direkt vor dem Gast präpariert werden. Wir empfanden es als sehr angenehm, dass zwischen den einzelnen Gängen keine großen Pausen sind. Es entsteht so ein Art Flow und man kann die Verbindungen zwischen den einzelnen Gängen besser genießen. Das Ambiente ist edel, aber nicht kühl. Der Service ist unkompliziert und freundlich entspannt, ohne die manchmal aufgesetzte Sterne Restaurant Attitude. Wir hatten diesen Abend mit Spannung erwartet und fuhren vollkommen zufrieden nach Hause. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis empfanden wir für die dargebotene Qualität als vollkommen korrekt. Zum Abschluss gab es noch ein Gastgeschenk, als Erinnerung.

Amazing experience at Frevo. It was 10/10 service from the minute we walked into the door to the very end. Top quality service and everyone was so nice. The food was unbelievable, delicious is an understatement. We were blown away and it was even more special getting to meet the chef and his team. I loved the small atmosphere, very cozy and tailored to each individual person. It was so worth the money and we will be going again!

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. My wife and I were there to celebrate my birthday over the weekend, and the entire experience from beginning to end was amazing. Very cool entrance behind the art gallery. And love the setup with the open kitchen and bar seating. Each dish was well though and executed with extreme precision, and the wine pairing was perfect as well. Got a photo with the chefs after dinner too!

Frevo NYC is, without question, one of the most exceptional dining experiences in the city. What amazes me every time is how they constantly tweak and evolve the menu yet somehow everything remains flawless. Every dish feels like a new discovery, but with the same depth of flavor and precision that makes Frevo truly world-class.
The service is impeccable from start to finish. Attentive without hovering, warm without being overfamiliar exactly what you expect from a Michelin-star restaurant, but executed even better.
And the food… honestly, it’s the best I’ve had in NYC. I’ve been to countless Michelin-starred spots across the city, but nothing compares to the creativity, balance, and sheer deliciousness that Frevo delivers consistently.
The ambience ties it all together sexy, intimate, romantic yet never stuffy or pretentious. It feels special without trying too hard.
If you’re looking for the perfect blend of flawless cuisine, top-tier service, and a beautifully curated atmosphere, Frevo is in a league of its own. Highly recommended.
