Whale watching 🐳🐋 Hervey Bay, Queensland
Had a wonderful day with Mark and his team. Very friendly and welcoming. Outstanding service all day, delicious food, too. Would recommend this to anyone. (Mobility issue with accessing downstairs toilets - but my friend and I were allowed to sit in the Captain's cabin. This was much appreciated and proof of their willingness to be helpful to keep the customers happy.)We saw many whales and calves during the day, and the weather was perfect!Great value and experience! ,🐳🐳🐳👍👍🐋🐋🐋😀
One of the best experiences I've ever had. We saw the whales very close, received invaluable information the entire time, and the entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. A great experience not to be missed. I highly recommend it. It's well worth it. Mark and Andrea are wonderful

our host/guide was our captain, he had a touch of humour and was safety conscious. The crew where pleasant and approachable, included food n beverages where ample and enjoyable. Even though we we late in the season and the wind was blowing, our captain found plenty of whales and made our whole journey as smooth as possible.
Absolutely fantastic trip. Andrea and Mark were so helpful ( I had my 87 year old mum in law and my husband on crutches). Saw loads of whales, calves coming close to the boat, dolphins and green backed turtle. The food and refreshments were great. I’d highly recommend this trip.

The activity was fantastic. We saw many whales and a couple of dolphins. The guides were top-notch; they drove very carefully at all times. Mark explained everything to us incredibly well. He led us right up to the whales every time they appeared. I highly recommend it.

I went on this the other day and it was an amazing experience! The crew was very nice, and mark explained everything you could ever need to know about whales in great detail, he also kept the boat lively with his funny jokes. To start the scones and pastries for morning tea was delicious, as well as making your own sandwich for lunch and afternoon tea. Not to forget the constant tea and coffee station plus the water on board and soft drinks/alcoholic beverages. Although of the minor dispute he had with a recreational boat, it really showed how much he cares about the whales and it’s glad to see that people still do actually care. Over all it was an amazing peaceful and intriguing experience being able to get so close to whales, and now I know a little bit more about whales that I didn’t know before. 10/10 experience I would do this over again and again.

I did get really angry with the recreational boat driver and shouted at him. sorry for getting so upset, but he did actually hit one of the whales with his boat- the closest anyone can get, including us, is 100m. If they choose to come closer to us then that is great, but no-one can drive up to them. Hope to see you again sometime! Cheers, Mark

What an amazing day! The skipper was full of information about the local sea life and islands. The whole crew were great. We saw so many whales, an unforgettable experience!
28-9-25- We had the best day out on the Freedom boat. It's the perfect size- not too small and not too big and crowded. We enjoyed delicious morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea with plenty of tea and coffee available. The crew were knowledgeable, enthusiastic and made sure we had as many whale sighting experiences as possible. We saw many mums and babies, tail slapping, fin flapping and multiple breaching- so blessed!

We ended up on the Freedom whale watching tour as we missed the boat for our booked tour due to being caught in traffic.
Staff were amazing, accommodating us at last minute.
I can’t speak more highly of the captain and crew who gave us an amazing experience.
We were traveling with a 6 year old and again, the staff were so accommodating, providing activity books and being incredibly patient.
Highly recommend.

I think that was the day the whales wouldn't come over to say hello until quiet late in the day- probably a Saturday when they were probably gettind tired of boats being around. but we got there in the end! Please come again next year, maybe in August or early September for the best whale interactions!

A great relaxing day whale watching with Mark and his crew despite the weather. Skipper Mark sought out lots of whales performing for us breaching diving and mums teaching their babies. Morning tea with fresh scones, a delicious lunch and afternoon tea was enjoyed. Plenty of food for all. The amazing , friendly , obliging crew ensured we all had a great cruise. Definitely recommend Freedom Ecotours for your next whale watching cruise.

We did the tour two weeks ago. We saw lots of different whales and the food was delicious too.
I would particularly like to highlight the motivation of the whole team, especially the captain. He was constantly on the lookout and positioned the boat perfectly, even waving to the whales with us.
