I would say without a doubt that Flying Wrench Services is the best diesel repair shop I have ever done business with, not only are they very very good at what they do but they take pride in making sure their customers are taken care of.
Considering the professionalism and technical expertise they are one of the best shops in the country and very fairly priced.
Thank you for the kind words and the stellar review. Also thank you for trusting us with your truck.
Thanks
Bernie

The Flying Wrench guys did an outstanding job of repairing my John Deere skid steer loader. The engine flywheel ring gear required replacement, and they changed the oil. Chad and George were great to deal with.
This is where I now take my Motor Home for its annual service, inspection, and repair. About six years ago, while searching for a reliable place to take my coach, a neighbor recommended Flying Wrench. I visited the shop, met the owners, and was given a complete tour. Their knowledge of everything diesel was impressive. I found they did what was necessary and pointed out that which was not, but which may need attention in the future. Their charges are reasonable but that's not what is most important to me. Their professional work in keeping my rather large toy in tip top shape is.

Pleasure to meet you and work on the Motor Home, Richard.

The team at Flying Wrench Services are amazing. I brought my 2025 RV in for annual service and a check engine light that was on. Service prices were great. The entire team was awesome to say the least. When I showed up to pick up the rig I noticed some issues with the stairs, lights and frieghtliner screen. It was bonkers, but they stuck with it for over another week dealing with the RV manufacturer and frieghtliner to figure it out. The issue was the sweet spot between house problems and chassis problems, but they kept at it and got me up and running again. They kept me in the loop on what they were finding, super friendly and very much a customer centric shop. I would recommend them to anyone in need of diesel servicing.
This is a repost of my original post from approx. May 20th 2026. (Which the business owner pressured me to take down) I am reposting this original because my truck did indeed blow up as I suspected it would and wiped a rod bearing in less than 3 months and 1,000 miles.

NEW Repost:
Absolute Hacks. Don't use their services. They are amateurish and unprofessional. I just spent $4000 for repairs and now I'm reasonably certain I'll need a new engine because the oil pump install failed and I didn't think there was a problem. Started my truck in the morning for a warm up, so I went in the house for about ten minutes. When I came back out to the truck it was smoking out of the engine breather and the oil gauge showed zero. It was fine when I first started it because I made sure to check it. They told me I needed a new battery cable (for $1000) because of the problem I reported with my gauges going crazy. After they replaced the battery cable, they reported the exact problem was still there (meaning the $1000 battery cable wasn't "the" problem). They ended up finding the problem in the TIPM and could be fixed with a simple jumper. The diagnostic was $760 before any work was started, but why wasn't the problem ever diagnosed properly to begin with and only found after the battery cable was replaced? If they were anywhere in the ballpark of being a "Professional Repair Facility" They would have returned all my old parts upon request, but the service manager told me they threw them away and their scrap guy already came a got the scrap. (Which I find hard to believe occurred in less than 24 hours of the repairs being done) To make a long story short, I'll now have to take my truck to another "capable" and "honest" repair shop to find out how much a new engine will cost me (or at least an in-frame rebuild of the bearings, because I'm sure there is heat damaged bearings now)
Edit: Sept 23 2023
In response to the owners post below, he left out that the oil pump was not the problem to begin with and that he charged me for an oil pump swap replacing a good pump with a new pump. When I brought my truck back to them after they told me it was fixed (note smoking incident above) and they only then realized it was caused from an oil filter housing (which they replaced on warrantee). So yes, TFW is directly responsible for my truck idling for 10 to 15 minutes with zero oil pressure. Every mechanic in the world would agree with me. Also, I did notify TFW when I dropped my truck off. I talked with the service manager and left him contact information. I had no expectation of them servicing my truck that day or over the weekend. I just wanted my truck there and available when they were ready to get to it. On the Monday following their service manager called me and told me "The owner doesn't want to touch your truck" but he said he would talk to the owner after I said "I might be willing to pay for parts, but not labor" and he said he would talk to the owner and get back to me. So after no callback that day and into the next day, I went and picked up my truck and took it to another shop.
Also, my engine is the original engine to the truck and I have no idea what the owner means when he says "Aftermarket engine".
Pressuring owner here. Merle left a few things out. As you may have gathered, we didn't get hundreds of 5-star reviews and a 4.9 avg by accident. Merle brought his truck in originally for oil pressure issues. We replaced his pump. Afterwards he stated it had issues on his watch afterwards so we looked into it, inspected it for issues free of charge based on his story, were not able to recreate his claimed issue, and at his request we inspected the truck to ensure there was no catastrophic damage he claimed likely existed. Catastrophic issue blamed on us by Merle, inspected, no issues. He left us a 1-star review before we even inspected his truck then. I asked him to remove it until we at least inspected it. At his request I even sent him a check for 1 hour of reimbursed labor on the original ticket because he felt it was too expensive to try to make him happy. Trying to go the extra mile there, clearly to no avail. Fast forward to the latest claim of catastrophic damage he claimed we were responsible for last week. We told him we doubted that this time would be any different, that we probably don't have any part to play in his aftermarket engine having more claimed issues but that we would get back to him on our plan. Dropping it off unannounced on a holiday week definitely caused a delay to get to it. Two business days later we call him to let him know we have time to look at it, and put that in writing for him, but we noticed on our cameras that he already came in unannounced like when he dropped it off and took the truck away the day before. Not exactly typical customer behavior. As we put to him in writing, we will look at the oil pump again to once again put him at ease that his claimed catastrophic issues are not related to the little work we have done on his truck, assuming he brings it back (hopefully with a phone call this time) and lets us look at it

Took my ecodiesel in for a intake manifold replacement. They are extremely knowledgeable and get work done in a timely manner.
The quote was very high, so I sought out a different opinion. Their initial diagnosis was disputed by another commercial truck repair shop who asserted that the brake drums and shoes were fine, the suspension linkage was fine and the only problem with the brakes was that the master cylinder and booster needed to be replaced. That's a very different cost than the $23,000 I was initially quoted. I have written them several e-mails to work out the details of a reasonable settlement for the work they did do, but have had no response. And there is no direct e-mail address in their website, only the contact form. Poor customer service so far but I'm happy to alter this review pending their response.

I had a truck breakdown in Seattle and needed to get it repaired so I could make the 2,000-mile drive back to Minnesota to see my kids. Flying Wrench Services went above and beyond. They ordered the custom parts I needed, got everything installed, and made sure I was ready to get back on the road.
Thanks to their work, I made it all the way home with no issues. I’m now about 15,000 miles later and the truck is still running great with no problems from the repair.
I also want to give a shoutout to My Guy in Fargo ATI diesel for recommending Flying Wrench Services. You sent me to the right place!
Thank you guys for the great service and for helping me get home to my kids. I definitely recommend Flying Wrench Services! 💯
Thank you for the Review Justin, so glad you made it back in one piece.

Had just done some work on my ecodiesel when I ran into an issue that I couldn't figure out myself. I had my Jeep towed to flying wrench to figure it out and after 15 spent trying to locate the issue they figured it out and fixed it. I'm very happy with their work
This one made us think a bit but we got it and appreciate the business.

I've gone to different mechanics over the years. Honestly, Flying Wrench is the only diesel mechanic shop that I trust to work on my truck in Kitsap county. It's worth the hour drive to have them work on it. Top recommendation 👍
Flying Wrench took the time to locate what was leaking in our 1996 dodge flatbed. Communicated with us the problem and the cost to fix it. Once approved they quickly made the repair.
The guys at Flying Wrench are the best. Professional… and know their stuff. Their new in field guy (Alex) is awesome. Took care of my Kubota tractor which was in serious need of attention. Thanks Flying Wrench!
Flying Wrench was great work with — they took the time to understand what I wanted done, gave me a clear written estimate, scheduled me in pretty quickly and did the work well. It was a good experience.
