Super COOL!! This was absolutely one of the best and most fun things that I have done. Got to fly a Gyrocopter was amazing and so smooth. Caylon was a great pilot/guide who showed and explained everything about how a gyro works. He is a real pro who knows everything about his gyro and makes you feel safe. The best part was that I was also able to fly the gyro for a good part of the trip which was amazing. I will admit I was both scared and excited to fly but a gyrocopter is so relaxing and smooth that you never realize that you are 4500 feet in the air in an open cockpit in a very small vehicle. I will also share that the takeoff and landings were incredible. To sum up - to fly over the Kona coast in a gyrocopter and see a lot of things from the air that you wouldn’t usually see was absolutely cool and once in a lifetime. I highly recommend this and now want to buy a gyro (don’t tell my wife). Thanks Caylon!!

Had an AMAZING time flying with Caylon. He did a great job of explaining the aircraft, how it works, and what to expect prior to flying which definitely helped keep any nerves I may have had down. Once we were up in the air, it was such a smoothe ride, and the views were immaculate! There is something special about being able to see straight down in into the water and you can see all kinds of wildlife! 10/10 would recommend for a fun and unique experience in Hawaii!

Super awesome experience. Caylon is super knowledgeable and methodical on the technical side of the experience, but just the whole open cockpit flying experience as a whole: amazing! Whether you’re just wondering what a gyrocopter is, or want to learn to pilot one yourself, this is one of the best gateways into the aircraft type.

Absolutely incredible experience. Besides skydiving this is the coolest ways to see the island. Fly Gyros Hawaii is hands-down one of the most unique and memorable aviation activities I’ve ever done. This isn’t just a sightseeing ride—you are genuinely flying the aircraft with a highly professional and calm instructor. The gyroplane is an amazing platform: stable, responsive, and perfectly suited for coastal flying. The views along the Kona coastline are unreal—lava fields, cliffs, open ocean, whales, and dolphins—and the perspective you get from a gyro is unlike helicopters or fixed-wing aircraft. You feel connected to the air and the environment in a way that’s hard to describe. Safety, professionalism, and instruction quality were top-notch from start to finish. Pre-flight briefing was thorough, communication in the air was clear, and everything felt very well run. Whether you’re an aviation enthusiast or someone with zero flight experience, this is an outstanding experience. If you’re on the Big Island and want something truly special—do this. I would 100% fly with them again.

Caylon is a pristine combination of fun and professional when it comes to the art of flight! The gyro experience is truly incomparable to anything else. I got to see and feel West Hawaii like I was James Bond, safely soaring over oceanic cliffside landscapes and gliding the air channel SO smoothly. When we took off from KOA, it was definitely a little windy but once we were cruising it was unnoticeable in the stability/smoothness of the ride. Gyro’s are especially fun when you get to experience the weightlessness of cutting the engine and feeling like you’re floating in a bubble in the sky without the risk of unsafe landing. If you’re looking for an exhilarating flight with highly skilled & experienced professionals behind the operation, Fly Gyros Hawaii is the place to go! Unforgettable time and I would highly recommend making this a bucket list item for all adventurous folks :) Fun fact: Caylon is also an incredibly skilled and epic skydiving instructor and if you show enough interest you may just be convinced to give that a try too. Can’t give enough praises for the talents on board here!

UNREAL. ABSOLUTELY UNREAL. Flying in the red gyroplane with Caylon was hands down one of the most epic things I’ve ever done. It’s straight-up a motorcycle in the sky—open, fast, smooth, and insanely fun. The moment we lifted off I knew this was something special. Caylon is an absolute pro: insanely knowledgeable, calm, and effortlessly cool the entire time. He explains everything clearly and makes you feel 100% confident while doing something that feels totally next-level. The views are jaw-dropping, the freedom is unmatched, and the sensation of flight is impossible to describe. This wasn’t just a flight—it was a life-changing experience. If you’re even remotely considering it, stop thinking and do it. Easily one of the coolest experiences on the island.

Gyro is super fun to fly! Like a helicopter and fixed wing had a baby. Caylon was very knowledgeable and skilled. Recommend to wear warmer cloth & sunglasses.

Highlight of my time on the Big Island! Got to fly over lava fields and see whales and even spinner dolphins. Caylon is a top notch flight instructor and gave clear, concise instructions. Look no further if you’re trying to have fun from above!

Caylon at Fly Gyros Hawaii took me on a beautiful flight over Kailua-Kona! He spent time teaching safety procedures and how the gyro functions just like he would a student pilot. I would do it again in a heartbeat!

An unforgettable experience. Caylon is incredibly knowledgeable, laid back, and takes the time to explain the aircraft while thoroughly checking all your safety equipment before takeoff. The views over Hawaii are absolutely breathtaking. I will 100% be coming back sometime during whale season. If you are debating doing this tour during your visit it is 100% worth it. I’ve done two so far and will be returning. It’s about a 45min -1 hr thing over all so plan ahead.

Fly Gyros Hawaiʻi is one of the most unforgettable experiences on the Big Island. From start to finish, everything feels professional, safe, and genuinely personal. Caylon is an incredible pilot — calm, skilled, and clearly passionate about what he does, which makes the flight both thrilling and relaxing. The views are absolutely unreal. You get sweeping, unobstructed panoramas of the coastline, valleys, lava fields, and ocean — it feels like flying through a postcard. If you’re visiting Hawaiʻi or live here and want something truly special, this is a must-do. I can’t recommend Fly Gyros Hawaiʻi enough.
