On way home from Pitlochry after a wee break and decided to drive through Auchterarder to find a chippy. Saw this one and decided let's give it a goπ. We had breaded fish it was brilliant and really thick pieces of fish and the wee one had sausage. Overall the food was brilliant and the juice and packet of sweets was a good touch for the wee ones. Will make it our go to place whenever we're up that way. πππ»
Absolutely terrible. The fish suppers were undercooked. When I returned them the lady behind the counter started disecting them and suggested the reason for there to be absolutely no colour on the batter was due to "fresh oil." I do not concur. The batter was white, anaemic and slimy on the inside. The other goods in the display counter seemed to be fried adequately.
There was absolutely no need for her to disect them, and suggest that I don't know when something is undercooked. Whether their oil is at the right temperature, too fresh, or otherwise does not mean I don't know whether something is cooked.
A refund or replacement WAS offered. I declined both out of principle. One does not require two undercooked suppers in one evening.
The chips were also raw and undercooked.
To be fair, the lady serving was reasonably pleasent. The lady frying the fish, however, was incredibly aggressive.
Not a great experience. I shall not return.
We are on holiday at Auchterarder at Five Acres Holiday Cottage and went for sausage and chips and peas x2 on our first evening which was Friday.. On Sunday evening we called in on the off chance for a sausage for our little cockapoo Molly.. The owner and a dark haired young lady happily gave us a sausage for free and some doggy biscuits.. Such a lovely thing to do.. Molly thoroughly enjoyed her sausage. We will be back before our holiday ends..
Highly recommend. Staff so friendly Thank you so much πΆπ
