Mid week supper, 8 out of 10 on my score, I'm not sure about the tartar sauce, it tasted a wee bit like colmans mint sauce 😳
Sausage and chips was great, crispy batter and chips and tasty sausage
Pie and chips was also great, again chips were crispy and the pie was really tasty.
Very busy place with locals and visitors. Thoroughly enjoyed our chippy and well priced too.
Excellent food, very generous portion sizes and all freshly cooked. We had haddock and chips, no scrappy chips, and the fish was big! Delicious batter too. I would say if you have a smaller appetite then one portion would definitely be enough for two people. Wish I'd taken a photo. Would definitely recommend and we shall certainly visit again. The menu choice is extensive too, hard to decide what to try first! Excellent value for money (£10.25 for haddock and chips) and considering the portion size it was worth every penny.

Visiting the area while on holiday, partner decided on fish & chips.... chips were fine ,but the batter on fish was a bit thick, need a new recipe to improve this. I had sausage & chips with curry sauce which was fine. Prices are ok for a seaside town Service was pleasant with 2 young lads serving.. Would visit again just improve your batter !!!
Average fish and chips. The batter of the fish and chips were a bit chewy, curry sauce way to thick for us. The haddock itself was really nice and big portion.
A must visit destination every time we're this end of the country. Freshly fried and generous portions.
We used to love this chippy but something has changed. Service so slow was in the shop at least half an hour ...batter on chicken was chewy and thick Mac cheese had a strange taste to it and was dumped at the bottom of the box so had to separate it from the paper. Sadly we won't be back.
The quality of the food can be a bit hit and miss, much like a number of places. But now I have had 2 or 3 poor meals in 6 I think there may be a trend. The fish can be overcooked with chewey dark batter. My last order had an item missing which was delivered later, but in the end we ate separately.
