Excelon went above and beyond! I needed a Cornice repair on my 3 family brownstone because the City came by and found us in violation. We went on the hunt getting estimates from 6 different companies but Excelon checked off all the boxes I was looking for. Sajin came over immediately and explained in detail what he would be doing and took his time answering my questions, and gave me a very reasonable quote.
We signed with them and NO REGRETS, THEY WERE GREAT! They completely repaired the Cornice and all the rotted wood, water proofed and painted it beautifully. AND DID IT IN GREAT TIMING. I can't tell you the relief I feel because the work is done, it's done right, and the City is off our back.
I have recommended them to my neighbors and highly recommend them!

At the beginning of the project, the town unexpectedly informed us that the building had been deemed unsafe and needed to be secured immediately. We were looking to waterproof the backside (before pics- grey paint over expose brick) of our home and spoke with several contractors after we noticed some water intrusion though the brick. We were constantly told they can stucco our wall in a few days by using a Styrofoam/plastic material behind the stucco and once completed, the styrofoam material was prone to dents so keep balls and kids away from the walls. After reading about the process from the big industrial manufactures, it just didn't make sense to glue Styrofoam to brick and cover it with cement.
Excelon came to our rescue and was the only one we could find that uses the traditional craftmanship of stucco by taking the long process for a smooth stucco finish. The amount of craftmanship and attention to the details it takes was outstanding. They also replaced our window’s lentils, added weep holes above the lentil and waterproofed areas around our windows and patio doors. We would definitely come back for other projects because the level of masonry skills and professionalism surpasses most others in their area of expertise. This is the second project successfully completed (after pic- burgundy\brandyvine color) with Excelon the first one being a stoop renovation that was done with great care and looks great after 2years.

We hired Excelon to waterproof the rear façade of our four story brownstone. Sajin took the time to consider the scope of work and answer the many questions I had about additional sealing and waterproofing measures for our bay window.
After the first step of scraping the façade, it was evident that a lot of the brickwork needed to be repointed. They were incredibly thorough and upon discovering any wear and tear, beyond what might have been expected, took steps to properly repair it giving new life and beauty to the rear facade. They even painted the gutter to match the windows.
The team of three worked through the weekend to ensure that they could complete the project before a rainy spell and upcoming holiday. They were very careful, considerate, and quiet — taking measures to protect the house and our privacy as we were working from home.
We were so impressed we’re now considering them for an even larger restoration project.

We had some waterproofing work done to walls and part of the foundation. Excelon construction did a great thorough job. Sanjin was very accommodating with scheduling and easy to work with. He went beyond the initial requirements of the work to make sure the job was done 100%. He was also very understanding of my concerns while the work was being performed showing a willingness to make changes or corrections to address unforeseen issues that arose as the work was being performed. Initially the foundation wall was to be water proofed 3 feet down from ground level. Sanjin went all the way down to the bottom of the foundation. There were minor things that needed attention along the way that he took care of; some holes in the roof, rain gutters etc. Communication between me and Excelon throughout the project was great and effective. Estimates were done in writing and were very thorough and were changed to accurately reflect the work that needed to be done. The work was performed in a timely manner at the times agreed upon. Finally, the pricing was reasonable. I will use Excelon in the future.

The crew from Excelon was professional, cheerful and performed all tasks with care. We had a scrape and paint job for our iron work out front and the fire escape out back. When we noticed a couple of small spots that needed paint retouching, those spots were quickly fixed. Excelon construction checked all the boxes for me after spending weeks vetting out a contractor to perform restoration work on my brownstone. The first box is experience. I visited their previous jobs and current job sites to see their workmanship. Being just a DIY'er, I looked for small things like cleanliness, attention to detail, safety equipment to protect workers and homeowners from liability and protecting properties of neighbors while working.
The second box is written contract. They provided a formal proposal listing the scope of work and itemizing the materials they will be using and an insurance certificate protecting the homeowner as a loss payee on their insurance policy. Not all contractors are insured even though they claim to be. They provided me the insurance certificate without me asking.
The third box is communication; one of my favorites. I've dealt with contractors that went MIA after paying the down payment or they will start a job and their workers will go missing for weeks because they kept taking on more work. Sajin was always responsive by phone and SMS before, during and after the work was completed.
The final box is price. The least important when you're searching for a quality contractor that will do the job right. I've received cheaper quotes but the other companies were skipping out on a lot of time-consuming prep work that must be done but they didn't mention it and I didn't know about it until I spoke with Excelon Construction. The pricing was beyond fair for a company that checks all the boxes for me.
I did my extensive homework so you that you didn't have to. Sajin is now my go-to contractor for all my home improvement needs.
