I had the most amazing experience with Elani & her Athens footsteps tour,I was a last minute guest & she met me at my hotel & we spent the whole afternoon & evening exploring the off the beaten path historic- cultural & my favourite the food experience!! Nothing was rushed- Elani is an historian she’s has immense knowledge & is so much fun to spend time with.we stopped in at some unknown places rather than the 2000’s of touristy places for some of the best food I have eaten accompanied by several different local beers - I was in heaven !!!

A fabulous few hours spent with our guide Eleni. Not only did we get to try delicious local Greek food, but we also got to hear a lot of the history of the city. You need to go hungry as these and just not mini samples of food. The pace was perfect with time to sit and talk and enjoy all the different food. We had a wonderful experience with Athens Food Steps on May 1st. From the very beginning, Eleni made us feel welcome and completely at ease with her warm, friendly, and approachable personality. She greeted us with thoughtful little welcome gifts, which were such a lovely and appreciated touch.
Even though many shops and the market were closed for the May 1st holiday, Eleni still managed to introduce us to a wide variety of authentic Greek flavors and local specialties, far away from the typical tourist restaurants. Through the food, she helped us discover the true spirit of Athens.
What made the experience even more special was how much she shared with us about the city, its history, and local culture. She also gave us many valuable recommendations for the following days of our trip. We loved Eleni and the tour was just magnificent, Eleni showed us things on our walking Tour that we would never have seen. The food tastings were fantastic and we ate so much excellent Greek food and produce, we landed up having to buy and extra suitcase to take all that we bought back with us, the beautiful olive oil from Crete, the spices, Halva just gorgeous and I think I ate my weight in Greek baklava. You can not go to Greece and not do this tour with Eleni you would be missing out so much on the culture, the history and the food. Every word comes from the Greek Word!!! This was the BEST night I had in Athens! I loved the stroll through the city, listening to Eleni tell us historical facts and stories about her amazing city! She was friendly, outgoing and really connected with our group, I think she enjoys the tours almost as much as we did! Stepping in and out of Athens' culinary hotspots is a delight. But doing it accompanied by the friendly and knowledgeable guides of Athens Food Steps makes the experience all the more wholesome. I loved how they took us to places frequented by locals and offered us the opportunity to taste the sweet and savory foods preferred by the Greeks in their everyday lives. A delightful experience.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Eleni on our food tour in Athens! From the very start, she was warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about Greek cuisine and culture. We loved tasting authentic Greek sweets and traditional coffee in charming local spots that we would have never found on our own. The highlight of the evening was the incredible seafood dinner at a truly local, non-touristy restaurant — fresh, flavorful, and unforgettable!
