Nicolene’s place was out of this world! The pictures on Airbnb didn’t even come close to the real thing. It was absolutely amazing and we didn’t want to leave. We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 month old baby and toddler. The inside of the house was beautifully designed, absolutely spotless and had all we needed. We enjoyed the garden playing football with our son and when the kids were in bed we enjoyed a good braai with the stunning views and beautiful sunset. We are definitely coming back one day as we really didn’t want to leave! Best Airbnb stay we’ve ever stayed at. Thanks Nicolene!

Unglaublich schön! Das Anwesen - ja es ist ein Anwesen - ist so liebevoll eingerichtet und dekoriert, ganz viele besondere Details, das Auge kann sich gar nicht satt sehen.Frische Blumen und eine Willkommens-Karte zur Begrüßung, sowie ein sehr leckeres selbst gebackenes Brot, köstliche Marmelade und frische Eier von den eigenen Hühnern. Es gibt sogar Heizdecken in jedem Bett und die Bettdecke ist wie eine dicke Wolke.Wir haben in den Betten sehr gut geschlafen.Alles blitzblank sauber und neu. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und das Haus ist größer als es auf den Fotos wirkt. Absolute Privatsphäre und auf Wunsch jeden Morgen ein frisches Brot.Nicolene hat immer umgehend auf Fragen reagiert und war äußerst freundlich.Einfach ein Ort an dem man länger bleiben möchte.Vielen Dank, es war das schönste Airbnb dass wir auf unseren Reisen je hatten.

We had a fantastic stay at In the Valley. The accomodation was very well equipped, well thought out for an extremely comfortable stay. Small perfect touches to make you feel right at home, the homemade bread and peach jam, and freshly laid eggs was an amazing welcome gift! The porch and hot tub we spend our evenings watching the stars something we dont often do in the city. Nicolene made our boys feel right at home with showing them the chickens and collecting eggs, playing with the farm dogs and my special memory was the horses. An unforgettable stay and we will be back soon!

My family and I had a very peaceful and relaxing 4 day stay at In The Valley. Groete and her family were all very professional and accommodating. Nothing was out of place or too much of an ask. We had a great time with amazing weather. Braai'ing, soaking in the hot tub and exploring the neighbouring towns, made for a memorable family holiday. The house itself is spacious and very cool (thick walls = old farm house). Def a Spring / Summer spot. Do note, the horse flies were out to get us, so make sure you bring some bug spray or whatever your Step Mother recommends. My wife and I were walking meals for those little buggers. Other than that, we loved it :)

We had a lovely stay at ‘In the Valley’. A weekend full or relaxation and cosyness. Tops: 🎀 Well furnished - self catering🎀Friendly host and very responsive🎀 Beautiful views🎀 Cute welcoming gifts such as nougat, bubbly,bread, jam and eggs.🎀 Nice crisp linen🎀 Bath robes was an added bonus🎀 Relaxing hot tubTips:🎀 Bring your own doom / insect repellent / fly trap etc - alot of flies, bugs and insects on the grass, next to the hottub, outside and on walks on the farm🎀 Bring your own olive oil / butter for bread🎀 Bring your own milk for coffee & water to drink🎀 Keep the hot tub’s cover on and lid close when heating - heating takes 4+ hours when heating for the first time. Make sure to light the tub early on, not only 1.5 hours as per the instructions. Maybe request to have the hot tub heated in advance. All & all a lovely stay, although a bit pricey for what you get.

As this is a self-catering farm stay, guests do need to bring along their own food and drinks. The homemade bread, farm eggs, and peach jam are a little welcome gift from us, and bubbly is reserved for guests celebrating a special occasion.Being on a farm, the start of spring does bring a few insects - they usually settle down by the beginning of October. Regarding the hot tub, it’s unusual that it took 4+ hours to heat, as it normally doesn’t. We stayed with our two daughters for a few days in Nicolene and Wessel's cottage in early August.
It's a beautiful location and very peaceful. The house and garden are exactly as shown in the photos, but much more spacious than you might expect. It's spacious, clean, and very well-equipped. The kitchen comes with a fresh pot of Rooibos tea from their own farm. You can also buy the tea from Nicolene; it's delicious and it couldn't be fresher.
Our daughters loved feeding the chickens in the morning and playing with the dogs, who were always waiting for them when we returned from a day trip.
The house has a lovely terrace with a Braai and a wood-fired hot tub that heats up quite quickly.
Wessel gave us a comprehensive tour of the farm and surrounding fields, explaining how Rooibos and citrus are grown. That was a wonderful experience.
I would definitely return here on my next visit to South Africa. The area near the Cederberg Wilderness area is not very well known among foreign tourists, but given the beautiful nature it is an absolute must!
First place ever where we got welcomed with a bunch of flowers. Over and above that, we were also welcomed with a selection of homemade sourdough bread, eggs, and homemade jam, and off course rooibos tea. This place is a true gem. Beautiful interior, comfortable beds and good quality linen. If I did not know better one would think that they trained the horses to come and "pose"in front of the house mornings and evenings :). The outside wood fire tub is also a winner. Beautiful sunrise/sunset. Beautiful view. This is a true gem and I would recommend it 100%

Absolutely gorgeous stay in this immaculate house. Such care and attention to detail taken with everything from the treats from the farm in the kitchen to the lights switched on for our evening arrival. Nicolene’s place is a slice of heaven. Honestly we had the most wonderful time at Nicolene's. It blew us away from the moment we arrived. We were only there for one night and it wasn't long enough at all. Whilst the inside is incredible, spacious and homely we spent our whole time on the stoop enjoying the massive braai and hot tub under the stars. It's the perfect place to get away from it all in winter or summer. The whole place was immaculate, clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything you could possibly need and if it's not there then as Nicolene will reply to a message immediately. She has a wealth of knowledge and will go the extra mile to help out with anything and everything. There was tasty homemade fresh bread, eggs and jam on arrival, alongside the farms rooibos! - what more could you ask for?! The next time we are in SA we will definitely be staying, but for longer next time! 😊
