I had to take a trip to this ER and if I had to go back to a hospital it would be this one (hopefully I do not). The facility is very clean and quiet. The staff is very understanding and nice. Nurse Bishop was my nurse and he was absolutely amazing..so amazing he deserves recognition and thats why I am writing this review. This is a highly recommended location.

One of my favorite ER! Each time we do need to come which isn’t often, it’s always the best service and everyone is so nice and supportive and making sure every question is answered and leave with a smile. I’ve been going here for the last three years

The service was fast and staff was great! Dr. Cardenas was kind and his bedside manner was wonderful. Bishop was a good nurse and even though he gave me 4 shots (lol) he did so gently!!! I would definitely return.

The review is not for the staff, though the wait time was over 3 hours and there were not a lot of people in there. This 1 star is for billing. I am glad that my insurance protected me as this provider, ER of Mesquite billed me more than what my network copay, coinsurance, and deductible amounts and under the Protections of the No surprises act they cannot do that. If you have a child please just take them to Children's of Dallas or Plano directly. It will cost much less though the wait time there is ridiculous on Mondays and Fridays. ER of Mesquite attempted to price gauge at $4,497.17 for a consultation, no X-rays, just water, apple juice, chips and cookies (they said those items were free) and now I wonder why because they were attempted shady practices when Children's of Dallas billed only $1,400 to my insurance and they actually diagnosed, and completed the procedure. So for waiting in the waiting room, and then waiting in the back to be seen by a doctor who only examined my child with his eyes and no tool as they were unable to because my child is nonverbal, it is as if they tried to take advantage of the situation. I refused the ambulance, so not sure why they attempted shady business practice. So ask for the charges up front if you can, because the claim they provided my insurance was for. They attempted to bill for CPT code 94670 which did not take place. My son could not give them but they were trying to take his bp. Nope. They billed for CPT code 99070 and no medical devices were used if you count the nurses cell phone light to look in my son's ear. They billed for CPT Code 99283 which is the ER visit to be seen and is low level examination. This is where they messed up, and I am glass my provider protected me under the Protections of the No Surprise Act as this bill was more than my out of pocket max, deductible and co insurance. Edited-11/28 They also billed for procedural code 99283 for the Dr Adesanoye portion (which is the evaluation of patients with moderate severity presenting problems). My son is autistic and nonverbal so not sure why they billed $2500, and thank goodness my insurance didn't pay that under the Protections of the No Surprises Act. Staff should inform patients that they are out of network and what would be the charges. So in all ER of Mesquite attempted to bill out $6,997.17 for chips, a brief consultation from the MD that was 5 minutes, nurse that was 7 minutes, and 1 bag of Doritos, an apple juice, and 2 chocolate chip cookies from Chips Ahoy and a 3 hour wait and there was less than 4 other patients there. SO I ENCOURAGE PARENTS GO TO CHILDREN'S OR URGENT CARE IF NEED BE. NOW I KNOW WHY THIS PLACE HAS BARELY ANY FOOT TRAFFIC!

We sincerely apologize, Sharonda, for the inconvenience and frustration you experienced. We understand how stressful billing concerns can be, especially when you’re seeking care for a child.
We would like to clarify that ER of Mesquite is out of network, but we honor your in-network benefits just as your insurance would process an in-network hospital ER visit. We do not balance bill our patients. We work directly with your insurance provider, and any portion not covered by your plan is adjusted off and not billed to you.
We would truly appreciate the opportunity to review your visit and billing details to ensure everything was processed correctly and to address any remaining concerns. Please contact our billing department at 214-224-4833, and we will be happy to go over your claim, answer your questions, and provide full clarification.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Your feedback helps us improve the care and service we provide to our community.

*edit for your records*-her name is Brianna Henderson seen on 10/6/25 about noon
My fiancé went with raised BP and chest pains and severe back of head pressure. The doctor told her in his professional opinion she was having an anxiety attack.
She was actually having a reaction to her medications and has been leaking spinal fluid causing her brain to shift causing severe pain and pressure at the back of her skull. While I understand that’s not the easiest thing to diagnose dismissing it as an anxiety attack because of past anxiety issues is absolutely unacceptable.
He did offer to have her sent to a Dallas hospital 2 hours from home and when I told him if he could get her sent to Tyler where we live that’d be better but he said no. If she wanted treatment she would have to go to Dallas and that I did not need to go with her she would be fine by herself 2 hours from home with no way to get back home until I could get off work to come get her after being discharged.
It was frustrating to say the very least and with how dismissive the doctor was I would never return to this er.
Thankfully she is on the road to recovery and has an outpatient procedure getting scheduled to fix her issues.
