I hired Erik Matthew’s Plumbing and Heating, LLC to fix my heating issue, and their technician, assured me he was 99% sure that replacing the circulator pump would solve the problem. Trusting their expertise, I agreed to the repair and was charged $900. After the work was completed, my heat still wasn’t working.
When I contacted the owner and asked for a refund ( or at least partial) or to have my old circulator pump put back in, he refused. Instead, he told me I actually needed a new boiler—something that should have been properly diagnosed before charging me nearly a thousand dollars for an ineffective repair. His solution? A $150 credit toward future repairs. Why would I spend more money with a company that already misdiagnosed the issue and wasted my hard-earned money?
To make matters worse, rather than taking responsibility, he blamed the previous installer for my system setup. If this was the real issue, why wasn’t it caught before recommending and charging for an unnecessary circulator pump replacement? Now, I’m out $900, still have no heat, and need to hire someone else to actually fix the problem.
This company does not stand behind their work and does not take accountability when they get it wrong. If you want honest, reliable service, look elsewhere.
Called Erik Thursday morning at 9:30am due to having no hot water. He had his technician Miguel at my house before 11am. Miguel was professional and efficient. Couldn’t have asked for better service. Will always recommend this company.

We called for emergency plumbing service, a backed-up drain, and they came quickly and did good work. Miguel and Cyrus were professional and pleasant, and philosophical about having to dig in our garden to find the sewer trap. Would definitely recommend.

I would not use again. Tech showed up, didn't introduce himself, didn't say his name nor ask what mine is. Walked down to the oil burner, I explained the situation going on, he worked for an hour and 25 minutes, came back upstairs, told me he needed to go over my invoice with his boss, then showed me how much his "work" was going to cost me (an arm and a leg, naturally.) My fault for not asking pricing up front, but how do you show up to a service call without introducing yourself, explaining the work you are about to perform, and explain the fee, BEFORE you do the work? Definitely would not use again, we obviously were ripped off.

You don’t have to use me again is fine but to say for a tune up and to decarb a oil burner for 700 dollars is fairly cheap and the chimney ppl charged you 1,200 to fix the chimney so must have been a pretty critical due you didn’t have heat for 4 days shoot I pay 1,700 if i didn’t have heat for 4 days in 27 degree weather
Do not ever use them. They pretend they know what they are doing but they have no clue about heating system. Erik the owner, is very disrespectful and has no manners.They are not honest, and nor professional. They tried to fix the heat once, got paid for it in full, it stoped working in 5 hours. Came back the next day, attempted to fix it again, got paid for it in full and it broke 8 hours later. Came back the third day, worked on the heat again, attempting to fixe it, broke again 6 hours later. And, when asked for a discount only the third time, without telling you in advance how much it’s would cost for the job, they told me they will call a police on you if you do not pay in full. ENOUGH SAID.
We just used Erik’s crew to install a Navien boiler and baseboard heating in our cottage. They were very professional,courteous and efficient (Maury and Cyrus) and I would highly recommend them.

I highly recommend Erik Matthews plumbing. I called in the morning for an issue with a basement shower and they came within hours and fixed it no issue. Erik was kind and understanding of my situation and his son was professional and courteous as well as more than competent in assessing and fixing the problem.

Not accommodating. Toilet needed fixing. Was told the job was completed and they left. Job was not completed. Ended up costing more money for more parts. Cash was to be available by end of day as no one was available when plumber was scheduled to fix it. Did not accommodate. Asked for more upfront through zelle. Rude on the phone. Don’t do business with this guy. Not worth it.
Their Immediately response was greatly appreciated, however the techs were about an hour behind schedule and the service fee was $200. They did a small repair same day which I was grateful for but ultimately I ended up having to call another company who came same day, repaired my actual problem in 2 hours for a fraction of the price. Would not recommend.
Erik had a trainee, who happened to be his teenage son, do the repairs who didn't know what he was doing and created a mess, Erik stated he would fix it and then refused. Erik tried to charge more than what was quoted, as his son claimed he must have forgotten the amount quoted. More details to follow, but he is dishonest and a liar. I wish I had read his reviews before hiring.

Interesting my Son is 25 and has been doing plumbing since he’s 14 so big fail . Quotes are pre estimated emailed to you then you approve it before work is performed so number 2 fail and whoever reads this look at this persons review every plumber you hired you put and bad review. All your reviews are bad even the restaurants you seen like an unhappy miserable person. I guess that why you call yourself private money cause clearly you try to screw everyone over . Good luck to you life’s to short to be miserable
Ignore all False Reviews, used this company May 2024 called and got service same day within hours, fixed my valve issue outside and inside. Very reasonable and knowledgeable plumbers. Highly reccomend in Nassau or Suffolk county NY

This man does nothing but flirt and takes money doesn’t fix job had him at my house 9 times had to get new burner guy left me without heat durning coldest days trying to get money back will be taking him to court last time at house claim he clean it but didn’t had fire in burner pipe do not used you can claim what you want I was trying to played you to get receipts which you still haven’t sent and you blame chimney company but fire was last time I had your company at my house and picture is after you claim to clean it and charge me another 600 going to court

Sorry you feel that way but since day one told you you had a chimney problem believe the guy you hired before me said the same. Not sure how I flirted with you being I never met you or personally been to you house . My son was at your house and is 22 married with a baby . Honestly didn’t leave you without heat but every time you called we were there with in the next day , If you had gotten your chimney corrected for the beginning problem would have been resolved. Also you don’t know me but we’re pretty open to tell me that your husband is sick and you can’t wait till he is dead . One of the time I was there we waved the change so if your gonna try to embarrass somebody at least to the entire story. I also had texts from you stating smith point has bands and when the weather is nice we should meet for a drink but I’m flirting with you

This week we used Erik Matthews for the 3rd time since buying our house 10 years ago. Each time we have used Erik Matthews plumbing it has been an easy experience. The crew have showed up on time, been respectful, cleaned up after themselves, and prices have been more than fair. Our most recent call to Erik Matthews plumbing was this week for a pipe under the sink that was leaking into our basement. We were able to get someone to come the same day as our call. Zach showed up within the time window we expected, he was quick, polite and very patient with my puppy that would not leave him alone.

Called Erik Matthews when the cold weather hit. No heat. He got right back to me, squeezed me in somehow - got to my house, diagnosed the issue and fixed it the next day when he quickly got the parts. Very fair price too! Def would recommend him and use him again.
