It’s always been a dream of mine to own a pool. In 2024, after some life changes, I decided it was finally time to make that dream a reality. One day, my partner and I wandered into the Epik office just to ask about the pool building process—and that visit changed everything.
In 2025, I closed on a new home and immediately reached out to Epik. I had the pleasure of working with Marc McDonald, and from the start, he truly understood my vision for the yard. Within days, Marc sent over a 3D mock-up—and it was perfect. Not a single change was needed. He nailed it the first time.
We broke ground in March, and our build manager, EZ, took it from there. He managed everything seamlessly. Throughout the entire process, both Marc and EZ were incredibly responsive, always available to answer questions or address any concerns.

Quick message regarding my experience with Epik Pools. Went into office to schedule somebody to come out for a design and quote. Designer Marc McDonald got word that I was in office and immediately drove to the office to meet me. Told him I was hoping to schedule an appointment and he said let’s do it now. Came to house and listened to what I had in mind.
Within days, Mr. McDonald not only sent me pictures of his design ideas but a video. Video can be seen on YouTube by entering “Jones Design Video” or just punch in Marc McDonald and view many of his designs on YouTube. I loved the design and he gave me the price. It was $2,500 more than another quote I got and $5,000 less than another. I signed on the dotted line.
The pool build went almost exactly as I was told and the final product is amazing. I love the heck out of my pool and use it all the time. There were a couple of unavoidable issues that were quickly fixed. I called and they came and fixed in a timely manner. Actually, one of the owners came out, on his time off, to get my heater going when I first cranked it up. Who does that?
In closing, I was very happy with Epik Pools. They put out an amazing product, at a great price with great customer care. I am sending a current picture in order for one to see how it matches the YouTube video.
10 years ago we were new to our community and wanted to put a pool in. I had contacted several companies to give us estimates. Out of the 4 or 5 builders that came out Richard was the most personable. You could tell he loved everything about pools. He was the only person that set down and really listened to what my wife and I wanted for our family. Richard actually explained why he recommended equipment and material that he did. During the build Richard was hands on the entire way. He was able to change things on the fly when we thought of something but was also honest when he thought something wasn’t a good idea. The worm his crews did was great and we couldn’t be happier. To this day, ten years later, I’ll get a call from Richard checking in on us. When I have a question or issue he is quick to return my calls and stops by to assist. He never says no I can’t or don’t have time for you. I will always recommend this company.
I have had 3 pools built over the years, and my Epik pool is without question 2nd to none. From start to finish the professionalism and craftsmanship exceeded our expectations. We met with Richard Boem, and he listened to our vision. When he put it to Design, and came over to show my wife and I, we were floored. He hit a home run. It was exactly what we had hoped for! The footprint of our house left a finite area to design with. The width of our pool went within an inch of our easement as I asked for. We were amazed at the precision of the excavation and the construction.
I would be remiss if I did not mention that his presence and relationship did not end once the pool was complete, as is is often the case. His patience with customers is a God given gift, because I know I asked the same questions twice due to my anxiety and impatience.
Richard gave me a gift that keeps giving, by teaching me to take care of my pool. He taught me to clean my own filters as well as chemical balancing. He made sure we were taken care of months after the pool project was completed. For this to be a major investment, he made it worth it!
