We had a great experience with Epic Mechanical! Kyle provided excellent customer service from the start , super friendly, responsive, and professional. George came out to diagnose our AC issue and really took his time to find the root of the problem. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was fixed properly. We’re so grateful for their help, especially in this heat! Highly recommend Epic Mechanical for anyone needing honest, quality HVAC service.
I scheduled a warranty tune-up with this company and was charged $100 for what turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. The technician, George, was in and out in five minutes—long enough to use my bathroom and say everything looked fine. He didn’t perform any of the tasks actually listed as part of the tune-up, and certainly didn’t check the unit thoroughly.
Fast forward just 7 days, and my AC completely stopped working. I had to call a different HVAC company, who found that the fan motor and capacitor had failed—issues that absolutely should have been caught during a proper tune-up. I ended up paying $1,100 out of pocket to fix something that could’ve been addressed earlier if George had done his job.
This feels like a scam. I paid for a service I never received, and it cost me way more in the long run. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Sharing this to help others avoid a painful mistake we've experienced. Epic Mechanical was hired by our general contractor to install the entire HVAC system in our newly constructed 8,000+ square foot home. While we did not select them personally, we trusted the recommendation. That trust was deeply misplaced.
From the start, we encountered issues with both heating and cooling. Epic provided shifting explanations--initially blaming system "start-up time," then our radiant heat flooring, and eventually accusing us of user error. For instance, they insisted the system would not cool unless the outdoor temperature exceeded 51°F and advised us not to set the thermostats below 70°F. These limitations were never disclosed during installation and are not standard for modern systems.
Independent evaluations from two of the most respected HVAC companies in the Treasure Valley revealed multiple installation oversights, including the absence of a basic component that allows year-round cooling. Once that was corrected by another company, the systems still failed. Amana, the manufacturer, later confirmed both units required board replacements due to known defects in equipment produced during the COVID era--repairs fully covered under warranty. Epic refused to perform them.
Even more egregiously, when our systems began shutting off repeatedly, Epic advised us to resolve it by manually flipping breakers at the panel--advice that a licensed electrician later confirmed was unsafe and a potential fire hazard. This was presented as an acceptable long-term solution.
Additionally, Epic installed two garage mini splits without removing protective factory wrapping from the refrigerant lines--an elementary error. The plastic later leached into the lines, causing full system failure and visible leaks. Repair is not feasible; replacement is the only option--costing over $15,000.
The most telling interaction came when our contractor finally reached them in person. Epic's response? That we were welcome to sue them, but they would never return to our home. This wasn't just a customer service failure--it was a declaration of willful neglect. Since then, they've ignored all emails, calls, and office visits from both us and our contractor.
Epic Mechanical was fully paid at the outset and has shown no willingness to honor basic professional obligations, let alone warranty standards. According to both HVAC companies we consulted, their refusal to resolve such straightforward, manufacturer-backed repairs is not just unprofessional--it's incomprehensible.
This entire situation could have been resolved in the first year with a simple, good-faith effort. Instead, Epic Mechanical chose to walk away, deflect blame, and hide behind false claims of user error. Their conduct reflects not only a lack of technical accountability, but a serious deficit of integrity.
***Two separate licensed HVAC companies in the Treasure Valley who have both confirmed in writing that the aforementioned issues were due to improper installation and manufacturer defects, and should have been fully warrantied by Epic Mechanical.
EPIC Mechanical: A Lifesaver for My Home and Family!
This team is professional, thorough, and incredibly knowledgeable. After another HVAC company—hired by my builder—completely botched my system, EPIC Mechanical came to my rescue. They brought in a team of experts to work alongside them, demonstrating efficiency, expertise, and a genuine concern for my situation, especially with a medically fragile child in the home. They treated my home as if it were their own, addressing every issue with urgency and care. I couldn't have asked for better service. Highly recommend!

I wasn’t expecting such great service, and I’m not one to pursue posting a review. However, the technician, Travis, was exceptional. Courteous, knowledgeable, prompt (he was able to show up even earlier than promised), he went above and beyond to address all elements related to the problem. Couldn’t have been more impressed.
Like so many others, I don’t usually take the time to leave reviews unless the particular product or service provider was either decidedly awful or truly exceptional. In this instance, the HVAC company, Epic Mechanical was so outstanding that my conscience has been continually prodding me to record my experiences. In an age where old-fashioned quality service is on the verge of extinction, I have found that it is still very much alive and healthy at Epic Mechanical. During the course of three separate experiences (concerning my older furnace unit), I have found that the people at Epic — Christina, Travis, Kyle, and Paul — are all fully committed to providing quality service (at competitive rates). In all three of my experiences, the repairs were completed at the earliest possible times (thanks in part to some creative scheduling to meet our personal needs). The team’s diagnostic skills were really on display with our older furnace unit. In each case, the problems were accurately diagnosed and quickly resolved. In a sense, it can be said that while many HVAC companies are so heavily focused on sales and simply blowing hot air, Epic has proven (at least to my wife and I) that its expertise is in actually restoring the “hot air” when a furnace fails to function in near-freezing weather. As a senior and a former corporate executive, I do know how to recognize exceptional Integrity, competency, and customer concern when I see it. Thanks Epic Mechanical! You have become my “go to” HVAC company.
Travis was absolutely amazing and explained everything so clearly!! They are a keeper! We would have never figured out what was wrong! He’s amazing! We now know a lot more about our furnace to prevent things from happening. There were bumble bees clogging the system. Who would have thought. We referred all the family with Trane Furnaces to him! Amazing!

We're so happy Travis was able to help you. Thanks so much for the review!
These guys were super helpful to me when they didn't have to be. Another company had quoted me a large for price for some work that turned out to be unnecessary. Paul came out and got me squared away. He was super helpful and concerned about making sure I had everything I needed. These guys have integrity. I'll be switching my business to them going forward.

Let us know if you need anything else, Paul. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review.
We have had nothing but issues with our HVAC since moving into our house in 2019. In 2021, we had a new system installed (by a different company) and we were still having issues every summer keeping our house cool. Travis came out a couple months ago, and we were so impressed. He took the time to research our system and was able to not only fix our issue but prevent it from happening again by switching out some factory settings. We have had ZERO issues since he came out to work on it, and our system is working more efficiently too. Can’t say enough good things about him and Epic Mechanical. We are so thankful for you!

Thanks for the review, Allie!
I recently had an old AC unit replaced by this company, and I couldn't be more satisfied with their service. The team took their time to ensure everything was done right, and they were able to problem-solve effectively along the way. They were also very clean and professional throughout the entire process. Highly recommend them for anyone needing HVAC services!
