Classic Whale watching from Reykjavik
We went on 06.12.2025, a family of four, it was a lovely sunny but cold afternoon giving good visibility. We hadn’t gone far out of the harbour when a humpback whale was spotted, we stayed for while watching it then moved on, a pod of curious white beaked dolphins swam next to the boat for some time then left us, as we started to head back two more humpbacks were spotted, seems like they are residents and stay all year round.It was a very enjoyable and informative afternoon, the ship also offered people overalls to wear over their clothes if they were feeling cold, hot drinks and snacks were also available to purchase. 10/10

Superb tour, excellent relaxed and professional operator that really knows their stuff. We were in the smaller boat which initially worried me but the speed and agility was perfect to find and track the whales. Captain was super skilled in seeing and navigating us to the best view whilst the first mate was extremely knowledgable about the whales providing info throughout. One of the best experiences of my life. Highly recommend.

I would definitely recommend this tour and would repeat it if/when I return to Iceland!! Elding even supply photos of the day free of charge via Dropbox the following day. Went out on 13/12 . Very informative.We were lucky we see an amazing Northern Lights show! I would suggest wrap up warm as outside had the best views.Only downside at the rear of the ship you get all the fumes off the ships engines. Sit at the front.Well worth the trip

Northern lights not guaranteed
We didn’t get to see the northern lights due to the weather, and were given vouchers to try to see again but due to our schedules we were unable to make the 2nd boat ride. In hindsight, I wish we chose a different excursion as there is never a guarantee to see the lights as this is a weather dependent activity. Regardless, the boat was really lovely!

I was lucky to be out there with this cruise when there was one of the strongest display of Northern Lights on November 12 2025. The ride was smooth. The guide was knowledgeable. We have no light contamination at all because we are out in the open. They provided us with very warm suites which helped a lot when you are out in the open on the water. The crowd size is right and everyone had a good spot to view and take pictures. The only thing that I did not realize before is that on the boat there is no way you can take pictures with long exposures because it is constantly moving. The stars in my pictures came out zig zag. So I would say this is not a way to see Northern Lights if you are a serious photographer.

Very well organised, guide very informative was unsure if we would see the lights as it had been cloudy all day. Once out on the sea clouds broke and managed to get to see the lights not bright but good enough for photos so achieved our goal to see the northern lights
