Nice accommodation in a great location but disappointing upfront fees and glitchy verification
☺ - Location, very central and easy walk to the station, lots of good places to eat/drink nearby, close to the main shopping area
- Nice house with good furnishing and well equipped for our length of stay
- Good shower with decent water pressure
- Warm and cosy, easy to use heating
☹ - the compulsory verification process. It didn't work after many attempts (even though it said it had) and I had to do it manually before I was allowed the lock box code
- having to pay a non-refundable £7 fee for the £350 damage deposit to be taken from my account or paying a non-refundable £25 fee for damage waiver to avoid paying the damage deposit up front
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage! The place is located in a beautiful, calm countryside with amazing views all around. It was peaceful and relaxing — exactly what we were looking for. The hosts were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed anything, which made our stay even better. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
Great location to explore Shrewsbury
☺ Lovely cottage close to town centre and great choice of pubs/restaurants. Around the corner from the theatre so we took in a show too.
The place is warm and cosy with comfortable bedrooms and beds. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed.
☹ The wet-room layout of the shower is not very effective but this was not something that bothered us a great deal.
The most beautiful cottage in the countryside. The views in the morning with a cuppa was amazing. The local towns had lovely pubs and restaurants. There are also easy 2-3 hour walks through the fields. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would recommend Thomas and the house to anyone. We will miss it!
Beautiful accommodation and location, with loads of space and charm. The best thing was you could walk up the country lane and be in the Stiperstones Hills with an amazing walk back to the local pub for a drink and then come back for the hot tub. Overall a very lovely peaceful stay. Would recommend 👍
The property itself was well presented and looked like the photos but was lacking some amenities that you’d usually expect from an Airbnb. Bins did not have bin liners and the instructions for recycling were unclear. Only small bath towels provided and no kitchen roll or tea towels. No salt, pepper or sugar, which you’d usually expect, especially since they’d provided coffee pods - it just felt a bit incomplete. The house and hot tub were clean, except for a few stains on the carpet.Location is very remote. There’s not a lot around so it feels very private. The pub down the road wasn’t very welcoming and a small supermarket is a good 10 min drive so come prepared if you don’t want to travel too much.
Excellent location, literally in the middle of the action. NCP parking only 200 metres down the road. 200 metres up the road to middle of town. Only issue with this is that the road is busy and quite noisy up until 12.00. Be prepared for this - ear plugs and sleeping music worked for me.Room was very clean, de-cluttered and had everything you need.Host gives very clear and easy instructions to follow. Check in is easy, with electronic key code and lock box for key.Very competitive price, I shopped around and it was about the right price.Had an excellent stay, Thomas place is a great base for Shrewsbury. Thank you.
