I recommend Edgewood! We've had Mario and his crew work on multiple projects for our home and we are very pleased. -Complete Kitchen Remodel -Flooring, Stairs, Paint, Tile, -Doors, Windows, stucco -Finish woodwork -Outdoor Patio cover -you name it Price was competitive, work was Completed in a reasonable time, and quality was great. Mario comes with experience and a dedicated crew, during the initial process Mario would brainstorm on ideas, layouts. Then when you're ready will have drawings made up so you can visualize the layout before work starts. We had walls knocked out, rearranged our Kitchen and did flooring throughout the house. Definitely consider Edgewood when comparing quotes with other contractors. Edgewood is great.

I can 't say enough great things about Mario and his crew. I have used them on several properties and all different projects including a massive remodel project that was damaged by a previous tenant. I have never been disappointed. He does everything, so instead of hiring six different professionals you can hire Marios team to do the complete project. You won't be sorry. He is very detailed oriented, and very fair on his prices. I don't use anyone but Mario and his team. Noone would be able to beat the best. Michele

Signed a contract for a remodel and room addition September 2023 with Mario of Edgewood Remodeling Contractors. We broke ground in January 2024 with a 4 month schedule. He asked us to move out of the house to expedite things and we obliged. His field crew are good guys who got us thru the footing and framing stage in good fashion. Once we began the interior work there began to be issues. Mario called me at the 4 month mark and wanted to "negotiate the budget." Interesting since we had a binding contract that he drafted. By this point I had paid him 90% of the contracted amount. He insisted that I had paid him less. We had a meeting about 4 weeks later where he said he couldn't finish the job "out of his own pocket" and offered us a Time & Material" option with a ballpark figure of $40K-$45K more to finish the job. I told him no. He eventually tracked down the monies he claimed we hadn't paid him and updated his books. From that point forward we had to pay out of our pocket for the plumbing finishes, exterior doors and hardware, rain gutters, light fixtures, countertops, kitchen tile, cabinet pulls, ceiling fans, garbage disposal, bathroom accessories, oak floor prep and machine rental, baseboard, labor to install closet and interior doors, HERS inspection, and many other items just to receive our final inspection and be able to move back into our home of 32 years after 7 months of living out of suitcases with my widowed 86 year old military veteran father. He could've cared less. He is now refusing to install the Cantera stone veneer per plan or reimburse us for the out of pocket expenses ($27K) minus the $12K unpaid contract balance. at this point he has been paid 95% of the contracted amount. He also had his employees working at my house for 7 months without valid workers comp insurance, which our contract stated he possessed at the time of signing. I just found out that he recently purchased a workers comp policy on September 17, 2024. Please be aware that he is a smooth talker who does things his own way and expects you to follow. I am a 35 year veteran of the commercial/medical/public works construction industry and feel sorry for the average homeowner who might be gullible enough to fall for his tactics. We have filed a claim with CSLB and are waiting to hear what they say. Beware, he also likes to claim that "all" remodeling contracts have a built-in contingency fund that he can use at his discretion. Don't fall for any of it!

Mario and his crew are professional, trustworthy, and reliable. Our remodeling was no easy job - extending our master bedroom over the garage, redoing the bathroom, building a walk in closet, extending our living room closing out part of the front patio, flooring throughout the house and a lot of small stuff, the outcome is beautiful. We heard of many contractors and stories of how remodelings were left unfinished, Mario made sure once the project started they did a great job and on time. We have personally recommended Mario to many and will continue doing that. Thank you very much.

Since I heavily rely on Yelp for my selection of service personnel, restaurants, etc., it is only fair that I share an honest experience. I have 2 properties that I am having the need for a general contractor. Why on Earth would Mario come out twice for even more specific measurements when you're just a ghosting deadbeat? I requested a basic diagrammatic proposal to submit to the HOA, and Mario disappeared. I guess that he did me a favor... And I thrilled to say that I interviewed another contractor last Friday, got a written bid that evening, and he had multiple crews here on site today, and it is 6:45 p.m., and the drywalled is still here working. Don't be discouraged - there still are some hardworking people that do more than lip service. Too bad that it isn't Mario whose wallet that I get to line. Deadbeats finish last. What can I say. I'm doing YOU a favor - keep going past this one.

His workers were great and dependable. I heard some nightmare stories from some friends regarding their remodel experience and I was pleasantly surprised to have none of that. I plan to hire him again for smaller remodel project in a different part of the house next year.

Mario Escobar has a great team working for him. They are polite, efficient, and clean. I had my master bath totally remodeled, kitchen counters replaced, and guest bathroom update with new vanity, fixtures and lighting. They were able to work on my schedule with preplanning as I have two dogs and moved out for that period of time. Mario is a great problem solver -nothing is a problem and I couldn't have designed as well without his experience and great eye. Valuable asset to anyone needing a contractor.

I accidentally dialed a wrong number inquiring about the interest of this company to bid on a total remodel of a mobile home. The previous "contractor" left me high and dry with a shell of a home, and any completed work was faulty & needed to be replaced. The woman I was speaking with informed me I called the wrong business, but knew the perfect company for the job. She referred me to Mario with Edgewood remodeling. They we awarded the bid and did a remarkable job. I couldn't be more pleased. Mario's team who began work mid June and completed the end of August 2019. They did a beautiful job. Here are some pictures of the completed project.

Edgewood did a total remodel on a 50 yr old mobile home that had seen better days. I was told one thing by the realtor and her “contractor” daughter as far as cost and what the home would look like once completed but was taken for a ride. Mario and his crew made a beautiful place for me to live in. I was left with an unsafe gutted shell & they made it into a beautiful place for me to live in.

Mario Escobar is a fantastic GC. As a real estate broker, I have met and worked with many! I can confidently say that Mario is the best and I have referred him to may of my clients. Two years ago I had a contractor walk off the job after I had a flood in my personal home. I was super stressed as it was close to Christmas and my kitchen and downstairs was torn apart. Mario pulled his crew off of one of his own investment properties so that I could have a finished house and Christmas for my girls. I think we put up a tree just as the flooring was being installed! Mario also has a great eye for style. Although he has a design consultant, he honestly doesn't need one because he's contractor and designer all rolled into one! All of this and his crew works faster and smarter than anyone in town. They are fabulous and trustworthy. Thanks again Mario for all you do!
