I was involved in a Semi Truck accident and was needing legal advice. I have seen numerous commercials for Edelman and Thompson and knew that they were the only option for me. I mean they good at their job just extremely and i mean extremely slow with the process. Definitely could do better on keeping you updated on the process but like i said they are very good just extremely slow.
I want to preface the following attempt at being objective with a tldr of my subjective experience during the length of workers' compensation events at Edleman & Thompson:
“Keith Yardwood and, by extension, Edleman & Thompson took a wholly unpleasant chaotic experience, walked softly, waved a big magic stick, and quickly put all parties attached to the case on rails towards the best outcome for me. Keith's experience, level of organization, and sympathetic, albeit realistic, attitude are reason enough for why I beg of you. If you need an attorney for your workers' compensation case. Go with Edleman & Thompson. Don't hesitate. Contact them immediately. You won't regret it.”
With that being said, I want to give an objective view of how this experience went and what was done by Edelman & Thompson (from this point forward will be E & T) to accomplish the outcome I was looking for. Ultimately this was ensuring the healthcare that I was entitled to was carried out. The money received at the end of the case was a bonus.
The first step in what amounted to a marathon was recognizing I needed an attorney. After having my treatment essentially put on hold and being jerked around by the workers' compensation insurance at my work for a couple of months, I realized I did in fact need an attorney. Once I did, I started looking at a bunch of factors to determine who I wanted to go with. Those factors came out to the following:
♦ Word of mouth recommendations
♦ Success rates
♦ Level of experience
♦ Previous client reviews (objective information in them):
• Do they pay attention to your needs during the case?
• How responsive were their attorneys to communication?
• Did they ensure the clients knew what to expect?
• Did they achieve the outcome the client was looking for?
As I went down that list, there were a few that stood out. Among those was E & T. A quick search online made apparent to me they had the highest success rates, most experience (from both sides), and their previous client reviews showed they actually cared. Obviously, I gave E & T a call. I was originally given the recommendation for an attorney other than Keith, but he was the one who answered. After a brief conversation, I had a consultation set up, and I met with Keith. I explained my situation to him, and he took my case. His welcoming demeanor and sympathetic nature put my initial anxiety at ease by the time I left the office. Over the coming months I valued his realistic perspective on what would actually happen during the extents of the case versus what one might expect. He kept me up to date as things progressed and made sure I understood before I made any decisions. Near the end of the case, I recognized Keith hit every criterion I was originally looking for. He was a perfect pertinacious professional. With the closing of my case, a thought occurred. If the rest of the attorneys treat their cases like Keith, there can be no confusion as to why they are the best.

This wasn't my first work injury. The first one was about 10 years ago and I handled it myself. Still, I called Edelman & Thompson and met with Steffanie Stracke to see if I was being treated fairly. She looked over my case and said that I'd done everything correctly and that she couldn't add more value to my case. That impressed me. She could have taken my case and got a fee on it.
So, when I had a second injury, I knew who I was going to call if things got complicated. And they did. While I was getting treatment, my employer changed insurance companies and didn't tell me. I started getting work comp checks that were for a lower amount. That's how I learned about having a new insurance company to deal with.
I got Steffanie involved to represent me as my attorney. Then things went more smoothly because of her expertise. I ended up getting all the pay that was due me.
