I started my VCE journey for methods with Robert a quarter of my way into year 12. Throughout the length of the year not only did I improve in my understanding of the subject but also developed ways to increase productivity and learnt how to balance my time effectively. Rob is not only extensively familiar with the VCE pattern but is also a great mentor, his tutoring style goes beyond the subject and prepares you for life after VCE. I couldn't recommend a better tutor !
To be completely honest I was half suspicious when I applied to EdAtlas in late Year 11. Was it even possible to get access to all the amazing resources as described with such an affordable price? I knew soon enough the answer was an unequivocal Yes.
When navigating my way through VCE, I found it extremely challenging to find motivation and assurance, which was only compounded by the ever-changing circumstances of COVID. Since there was no way of knowing my ranking in the cohort or things like average marks etc, I used to find myself constantly overthinking about my ATAR and grappling with uncertainty, not knowing whether I’ve done enough for a certain subject. EdAtlas saved me from such fears. With EdAtlas’ diagnostic weekly tests, I was able to gauge my learning progress, manage my time and channel my limited time and energy to pinpoint my areas of weakness. I was also able to stay motivated: every time I ticked the box of to-dos provided by Rob’s specific, achievable week-to-week goals and tasks, I knew I was one step closer to my goal.
EdAtlas was the turning point in my VCE learning journey and also beyond. Studying with a small class of inspiring individuals from different schools allowed me to develop connections that meant so much more to me than the VCE results. When I worked on my overseas uni application, Rob also offered invaluable opportunities for me to get more insight into relevant areas by connecting me to his expert friends who had been there themselves. Having conversed with Rob and his equally inspiring friends, I was able to grow as not only a high school student, but more so as a person holistically.
You can easily find explanations for maths questions on YouTube, and there are plenty of tutoring companies available. But if you are looking for a tutoring company that values education more than business, and if you are after a mentor who truly cares about and dedicates to cultivating your personal success in the future, EdAtlas will undoubtedly be your first choice.
At the start of the year I was really struggling with low confidence in Methods especially as I wasn’t feeling supported in the classroom. The stress and panic began to increase just before my first sac(around end of term 2). I knew I desperately needed help. I felt like I knew no content, I was not understanding what was happening in class and was completely overwhelmed with Methods. In my first sac, my result sat in the lowest quartile. This flattened me, however after one class with Robert, he did a mini session on how if you didn’t do well in one sac it wasn’t the end of the world there was ways to improve. This single session really helped motivate me providing me with an initial confidence booster to push in my next sacs. I tried to seek help from schoolteacher prior and after this sac but my teacher struggled to explain the content it a way that I could understand (I also have visual processing and learning issues and her style was ineffectual). I found that Robert would first explain the content, then provide a broader view on the topic or provide a relevant or interesting reference making it easier to identify in an extended response question. This approach was extremely helpful to my learning, making it easier to understand and follow. Once having Robert as a tutor for the remainder of the year, my results significantly improved as did my confidence in Methods. With Robert’s tutoring, I achieved results in the upper quartile for my last two sacs.

Rob doesn't just help guide you throughout methods, he's supportive and will guide you through the entirety of VCE and inspire you. Without Rob my methods study score would have plummeted. During VCE I was unmotivated and felt lost, my methods scores were below average and I just wanted to make the subject a 'bottom 2', having met Rob he helped me so much in class and out of class, I felt a drive to study hard not just for methods but my other subjects as well. Rob had opened my eyes to what the future held and made me want to chase it, showed me the purpose of it all which made me want to study hard to reach them.
As such in the end, his influence had helped me achieve a methods study score that I would've never thought I could even achieve. The time I spent with Rob was worth way more than what I had paid.
Thank you ROB!!! For all your practical knowledge ,support and genuine care for my learning. Rob is an amazing teacher and he was truely my saving grace, as I found myself losing all motivation for methods and having previously had multiple bad tutoring services , Rob gave me the confidence and helped me believe methods could be very valuable. From being my worst and most hated subject once Rob guided me, and I was able to turn that around and make it my top subject. Rob's teaching approach is one of a kind and it works, he targets weaknesses, sets reasonable study expectations and makes great progress that way. I appreciate all Rob has done for me and he was 100% worth it.

EdAtlas helped me develop as a person, not just in the fields of Mathematical Methods. Robert was not only a tutor, but a mentor who really motivated me to work hard in the face of adversity. His inspiring little stories always filled the room with chuckles and we definitely learnt many life lessons through it. The quality of tuition was extremely high; we never ran out of resources throughout the year and we were able to excel thanks to the help of tutors who always responded back within 5 minutes if a question was asked :)
To say that Rob is an excellent tutor is an understatement. When I first started studying Specialist Mathematics with Rob, I came to his class with poor fundamentals and ranked well below average at school, searching for answers and how to improve my grades. Under Rob's tutelage, I can affirm that I did find this answer.
The way Rob teaches his classes is unique from any other tutor I've ever had. Not only does he have originally made resources designed to lift the grades of students of every level, but also inspires his students with different, effective methods of studying. I can say with full confidence that it is only through these evidence backed methods of studying, as well as such resources, that have boosted my studies in SM 3/4.
During the 2021 lockdowns (when student motivation plummeted across the state), it was only through Rob's advice that pushed me into a hyper-focused mentality that kept me studying throughout the whole of lockdown. What's more is that Rob also takes it to the next level with his students, genuinely caring about his students' wellbeing and giving a hand when they're facing hardships.
Rob's ability to put unmotivated students into hyper-focused, high achieving students sets him apart from other tutors. He makes students, like myself, discover their latent potential, revealing a whole new self that I didn't even know I had in me. I can say with certainty that without Rob, I would have never made it through SM 3/4. Thus, I highly recommend having Rob as a tutor for your VCE studies.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Overall my experience has been quite good. My tutor (Je Min) was very engaging and clear with each topic he covered and completes topics at an achievable pace. I have gained highly useful knowledge which will definitely aid me in my high school endeavours.
Rob (EdAtlas) has been such an amazing tutor. He has been incredibly helpful throughout the year, the classes both in person and online were delivered perfectly and it greatly improved my understanding of methods. He taught us small shortcuts and alternative methods to solving questions than what I was taught at school which proved extremely useful in the exam and my SAC's. Outside of class/school Rob is also a very kind person and has helped me get a job and given me guidance on University courses and he has made my experience with him fun and enjoyable. If your looking for a tutor for 3/4 methods (and other subjects I just didn't do them with him) Rob is the perfect guy for it!

Throughout this tough year of VCE, there have been ups and downs, failed SACS, wasted time, but also great moments of learning. Yet, regardless of the situation, I can honestly say that Rob's mentorship has got me a long way, not only academically, but as a person. As a year 11 student diving into the midst of VCE, I was disorganised, unmotivated, and hadn't done too well in unit 1/2 maths exams due to poor time management. I also probably spent a bit too much time on watching asian dramas and anime.
Throughout the year Rob's large bank of resources has given me the freedom to more efficiently learn the topics throughout the year. Furthermore he explains concepts concisely, and even through online learning was able to go above and beyond. He come to class with the willingness to ensure that we as students learn the concepts, even staying back after class so we can ask him questions.
Although realistically, I still procrastinate here and there, I do it far less, and I spend more of my time with intent to succeed. So, despite burning out a bit towards the end of the year, and perhaps bombing a few exams, I can wholeheartedly say that I would be worse off without Rob's valuable academic help and life mentorship.
Thanks for a great year!
My physics tutor Alex is one of the best tutors I’ve ever had — incredibly friendly, engaging and hardworking. He’s really flexible and doesn’t hesitate to provide comprehensive help outside of class hours as well. Furthermore, his knowledge of physics is amazing. Alex makes sure that you learn and practice concepts in-depth, and also ensures that you regularly review content to create greater understanding. His familiarity with the study design, SACs and exam content is a great asset; he takes you beyond just the basics. I’m grateful to have a tutor that truly cares about his student’s achievements and goals, and is there to support them through every step.
An excellent tutoring service that is highly professional! My private tutor, Jemin, has greatly helped me with my mathematical understanding. Even if the classes are not face-to-face, he breaks down various complex mathematical concepts into small, bite-sized chunks and before you even know it, you have learnt and fully understood a whole VCE chapter within 60 minutes (something not accomplishable at school)! Furthermore, he sets homework that allows you to push yourself to the best of your abilities and truly conquer that particular chapter.
Also, Jemin truly understand your long-term goals and gives you great advice on how to perform at your capacity. Personally, I want to really excel in my VCE so that I may be able to enter fields like medicine. Thus, Jemin pushes me by making me solve harder problems and truly lets me understand the mathematical meaning behind certain rules to avoid silly mistakes, my number one weakness. Gladly, as a result, my silly mistakes in tests have significantly decreased ever since I joined this tuition. However, Jemin also makes you aware of the less useful concepts that are not worthy of your precious time and does not delve into them like some other educational services do, but rather quickly glosses over them. Lastly, Jemin is also a very nice man and because of this, a very nice online learning atmosphere is created.
The only improvement I have for Jemin is that he should be an Arsenal supporter and leave Liverpool ;)
Overall, this is a FANTASTIC mathematical tuition service that I highly recommend for ALL high school students.

Best tutoring service. I started the year with 0 methods knowledge having not done U1&2 which was very challenging going into year 12. Rob stepped me through everything I needed to do which made it very achievable. He is very approachable, knowledge and cares about every one of his students. Rob is always happy to explain concepts and topics in multiple ways which is very helpful for a subject like Methods. I highly recommend this tutoring service to anyone who’s undertaking maths methods or specialist. I definitely couldn’t have made it through this year without him.
Going into 3/4 methods, my understanding of core concepts were limited and very bland. I decided to look for a tutor for the subject and ultimately stumbled upon Ed Atlas. I made sure to see if Ed Atlas was right for me and that I will get my best results possible from attending. Boy was I glad I landed on Ed Atlas! The teaching methods used are top notch and a new concept will not be shown until you understand this. I personally liked this as I felt at the beginning of the class, many other students had a greater understanding than I did, however at Ed Atlas, Rob makes sure that you will understand a concept by using easy to understand examples and explanations.
Not only is Rob a very exceptional teacher, however he is a very genuine person outside of tutoring, and I feel as a student, this really makes a difference. Having a teacher at a young age with a great understanding of the content as well as teaching methods used makes for a very effective tutoring company.
By the the final exams, I was walking into both exams with confidence regarding all topics and content, and Ed Atlas made sure I was confident with the topics that will be on the exam. To say that Ed Atlas helped me with methods would not be doing justice to the truth, they turned me into a new student in total, be that methods or every other subject.
For anybody considering Ed Atlas tutoring, I cannot stress to you enough how much you won't regret choosing to learn with them and Rob, you will only be doing yourself favours.
Robert is by far the most dedicated and professional tutor I've had the fortune of studying under. The support and guidance that Rob provides extends far beyond the confines of the lessons, I am always assured that I can turn towards him for help at any time and that he will give his utmost despite it cutting into his own personal time. He has personally and meticulously crafted a set of notes, exercises and materials that are designed to help you succeed (and are far better than the textbooks as I'm sure many would agree).
Yet perhaps equally as important, Rob is the greatest mentor you could possibly have. He works tirelessly to ensure that all of his students are equipped with the tools and knowledge to succeed in both VCE and beyond. A motivational talk here, study tips there, students can be certain that they will walk away from class having learnt more than just content, and it is these exact life lessons that I have found invaluable and am grateful for. Even after your tenure as a student ends, Robert is still someone you can continue to seek guidance from and as always, he will happily help out.
I think this can only speak towards how committed Rob is towards the success of his students, and how much he cares about each and every one of them as a person - investing his downtime into seeing you achieve your goals. Would not trade learning from him for anything!
I was fortunate enough to stumble upon Rob's ad on Atarnotes at the start of year 12. As someone who had always struggled in math and started finding the methods classes from a tuition company I attended increasingly harder to keep up with and understand, I knew I needed a change. Thankfully, contacting Rob was the best decision I could have made.
Not only is Rob incredibly knowledgeable and well-versed on the study design and the use of the calc (I have never seen him stumped by a question!), he is also incredibly patient and more than happy to answer all the questions I had, even asking me to send him more questions and taking multiple approaches to ensure my understanding.
Rob is extremely detailed and thorough. I ended up using his weekly set of structured notes as my bound reference at the end of the year and the weekly tests he gave us were challenging but instrumental in helping me retain and apply the concepts I've learnt, also revealing areas I still needed to work on. With his experience and success both in VCE and as a tutor, Rob has a good plan of what a student should be doing and when, with regular updates on progress throughout the year and an incredible wealth of resources and insider tips from some of the best schools and teachers in Victoria which I heavily relied on during sac and exam preparation. Rob also taught me to become a better student, introducing study and revision strategies such as keeping a logbook which were extremely valuable and would enable any student to save time and maximise marks in the exam.
Though he teaches some of the most talented students in the state, Rob looks beyond your marks, instead placing value in your own hard work and effort to achieve your personal best. In addition to this, what made Rob unique to any other tutor or teacher I've ever known was his incredibly supportive nature and how he takes the initiative to help in anyway possible, even setting aside extra time to coach me in my med interviews after I graduated from VCE.
Rob is not one to shy away from challenges, and encourages his students to do the same. He made me leave every class wanting to do better and work harder, helping me transition from an extremely overwhelmed student to one who realised the very subject I disliked and struggled in the most could actually be enjoyable. For that, I cannot recommend him highly enough and strongly believe any student who chooses him as their tutor would be in very capable hands.
