⭐ (1 star) - AVOID AT ALL COSTS - Illegal Work, Code Violations, Fraud
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Expert Comfort Solutions LLC performed one of the most negligent and illegal HVAC installations I've ever experienced.
UNPERMITTED WORK - CRIMINAL CODE VIOLATIONS:
They installed a complete heating system ($6,250) at my Charlotte residence WITHOUT obtaining ANY required building permits from Charlotte-Mecklenburg County. I verified this through official county records - NO PERMIT was ever pulled. This is not just poor service - this is illegal construction work that violates NC building codes.
CATASTROPHIC FAILURES WITHIN 6 WEEKS:
System failed multiple times requiring emergency service calls
Left my family without heat during winter
Repeatedly non-responsive during emergencies
Each "repair" was just a temporary band-aid, never fixing the root cause
INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT REVEALED SHOCKING VIOLATIONS:
Brother Heating, Cooling & Plumbing conducted an independent inspection that documented:
Critical building code violations throughout the installation
Substandard workmanship that compromised system safety and reliability
WARRANTY FRAUD: Because work was unpermitted, manufacturer warranty was reduced from 10 years to 5 years - they LIED about warranty coverage
DOCUMENTED DECEPTION:
Lied about repairs performed (I have photographic evidence proving their dishonesty)
Claimed to fix issues that were never actually addressed
Ghosted me during system failures when I needed emergency service
CONTRACTOR WITH ZERO ETHICS:
This company prioritizes quick cash over safety, legality, or customer wellbeing. They knowingly performed illegal work, deceived me about warranty coverage, and abandoned me when their shoddy work failed.
PHYSICAL VULNERABILITY EXPLOITED:
Due to back issues preventing me from inspecting crawl space work personally, they took advantage of my inability to oversee their work and cut every corner possible.
BOTTOM LINE:
Expert Comfort Solutions LLC performed illegal, unpermitted construction work in direct violation of NC building codes, committed warranty fraud, provided catastrophically poor workmanship, and demonstrated complete disregard for customer safety and legal requirements.
I am pursuing formal legal action, credit card chargebacks, and have filed complaints with appropriate authorities.
Save yourself the nightmare - hire a legitimate, licensed contractor who actually obtains permits and follows building codes
First experience with this company. The owner, Jordan Mainer, was personable and provided candid feedback about the health of my unit. No nonsense and no hype. Competent and calming demeanor. Excellent. Will do business with him in the future.
Update. My heating went out Sunday afternoon of the recent winter storm. Jordan, who was stuck in Columbia due to road conditions at the time, responded as quickly as possible on Monday when he returned to Harrisburg. He efficiently resolved the issue, and heat has been restored to my house. When I chose Expert Comfort Solutions to be my HVAC company, I chose well.

Jordan is an awesome hvac tech. My ac started making weird sounds and was freaking my family out. I can do electrical but when it comes to hvac it’s all a mystery. He was able to come out quickly and solve my issue for a great price. Plus he was great at explaining what was causing the noise and the options we had to fix it. If anyone is in need of hvac service I cannot recommend enough

The owner Jordan was quick to respond. We had a 2003 RUUD with rusted heatexchange and was time for replacement.
Two other companies quoted higher. Jordan has lots of experience and started his company bc he knew he could deliver great value.
Very good to work with. One day turnaround to get a unit installed, thoughtful of us keeping warm.
New Goodman unit working well, with 10-20 yr warranty on unit and heatexchange. He offered flexible payment options with 0% 24 mo financing. (He did offer a quote to repair the old unit but the buy made sense)

Jordan and his crew did an outstanding job! Had a whole new heat pack installed at a very fair price, in very short order, and I couldn't be happier with the results! Definitely a FIVE star service provider. Highly recommend!
