Out of all the contractors I met with, he was by far the most knowledgeable and disciplined in his approach. Finding a good roofer is tough. I talked to a bunch of people who’d had bad experiences before I started my search, so I was pretty careful. I interviewed five contractors before we chose Udi at Eclipse Metal Roofing for our total roof replacement in Pacific Palisades. He used a combination of DaVinci Composite Slate and standing seam metal with custom metal finishes, including copper gutters, which looks incredible.
What really sold me on Udi were a few things. First, his references were top-notch—everyone said they’d hire him again. Second, he was super responsive. He always got back to me right away, even just to say he’d call later. He's based in Westwood, so he's close to jobsites on the Westside. Eclipse has expertise in a variety of roofing materials and knows how to use them together. We wanted a combination of metal and composite slate on different parts of the house and copper gutters, which requires a lot of work and coordination that Eclipse delivered by doing fabrication both in the shop and on-site. But the clincher was a referral from the Regional Manager of a huge roofing supply company who said if he were doing his own roof, he'd hire Udi.
Once the job started, Udi was a pro all the way through. He was always on site checking in, kept in touch with his crew, and made sure all the supplies were on hand. I was especially impressed with his attention to detail: the crew always wore safety harnesses, the job site was cleaned up every single day, and I could tell they weren't cutting any corners. His metal fabrication was excellent - very precise work.
I would absolutely hire Eclipse again for any future roofing needs. If you’re looking for a roofer, I’m happy to recommend them.
