I relocated to Lyman a couple of weeks ago and needed to have some maintenance done on my truck. I wanted to have a thorough inspection of the truck since it has 240K miles on it. I read some reviews for the local dealer, and it wasn't good! I decided to search for an independent service and repair shop in the area, and I found Eastside Automotive online. I read reviews and was surprised by what I saw...nobody is this happy about an auto shop!
The first impression was great! David was pleasant, knowledgeable, and sounded like he was enjoying his job and his day! I dropped my truck off later that afternoon and met David, so detailed, happy, and a funny guy. The shop was clean and tidy, a good sign!
He said he would follow up with information on what the mechanic found...WOW! Details, pictures, recommendations with cost estimates and he broke things down for me with the priority of must fix and should consider soon.
My truck was ready earlier than promised and the cost was less then estimated because the mechanic found several parts were still in good condition and didn't need replacing, when does that ever happen?
I was expecting to find the usual greasy handprint on the steering wheel or door handle, but everything was clean and the floormat cover was still in place.
The next day I got a call from David just checking to see how the truck ran, did I have any concerns and was there anything I thought they could do to improve my experience... What!
I guess I'm drinking the Kool-Aid at Eastside Automotive, 5 Stars isn't enough!
Buyer beware. I brought my car in for a coolant issue and was forced to pay for a full diagnostic so they could upsell “urgent” repairs. They wanted $1300 for a heater hose repair. I called 3 other shops for rough estimates and each of them were around $500. That’s a 160% up charge! They also pushed another $1500 in unnecessary work and tried to sneak in an oil change. My oil was changed last week and they even noted that in their inspection report.
The urgent repair I actually needed ended up costing me $40 in parts and 30 minutes of my time. (Shout out to ChatGPT)
Unethical and sleazy tactics. Be very careful taking your vehicle here.
Last visit, like the many previous ones, was a full success. The great place to service cars and no more worry afterward. Wait until you see the service report prepared by David, which includes detailed car maintenance records with pictures, including further service recommendations based on the current car's status quo. For me, the most important matter is the quality of the service and the staff, mechanics behind Eastside Automotive, located in Greenville, SC area. Seasoned mechanic Matt is a highly skilled car maintenance specialist who puts his broad repair knowledge into practice. This car repair shop has taken care of my cars for quite some time. Never, ever i had any post-maintenance issues with either car. Example: I have a BMW car that has had some engine problems for years, yes, for years; the BMW dealer never gets it working right. To my great surprise, Matt found the issue and took care of it. Now the car runs great, as it should. I have full confidence and trust in Eastside Automotive service. They earn my trust.
My experience with Eastside Automotive was all positive. I'm new in the area and was looking for an alternative to the Dealership. These guys were extremely courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. Doing what I asked for and provided recommendations without the typical pressure to upsell. I definitely recommend them.
The friendliest and most sincere automotive shop! I always feel welcomed here. They are thorough in their inspections and always inform me of any issues they find. They take the time to clearly explain the problems and potential solutions—without any pressure to commit to service that same day. I would highly recommend them!
Took my car in with both headlights working, left with one! Their solution? If I buy the bulb, they would install it for free 😂 if you didn’t already know it, installing a headlight is so easy a teen could do it, it’s buying the bulb that hurts (your wallet)! Actually, you install them in pairs so now I need to buy 2. Thanks for that headache!
