eCar Alberton quoted me to redo my VW Caddy's Engin - Said that they would have to redo all 4 Cylinders and it would Cost me R16 000 and I agreed, later called me and said that the Engineering would cost an Extra R25 000, I needed the Caddy and eCar was a big brand I assumed.
R41 000 later and collected the Caddy... I drove the Caddy 4 days and the Gear Box broke... cost me R18 000.to repair, the Gearbox Company said its eCar fault 'cause they havend checked the gearbox oil, only 600ml in the gearbox.
Ok, a few weeks later the engin shaked while ideling... and went back, Ohhh.... eCar Alberton Closed down... no one on the premises.
Called eCar Head Office... and they just pull their shoulders up: "Sorry there's nothing we can do!"
Took it to Motor Service City... They Quoted me R24 000 to fix the 3rd Cylinder after doing presure testing and said, they are sure eCar never did anything to service the Caddy...

Engine Repair & Cost: The initial quotation for the engine re-build was R16,000. As is often the case with complex mechanical work, once the engine was stripped and assessed, further necessary repairs were identified, leading to the revised total cost. This increase was discussed and approved by you before any further work commenced.
Gearbox Failure: The engine re-build we performed is separate from the sealed gearbox unit. Our standard procedure for an engine repair does not involve opening or servicing the gearbox itself. Any oil loss or subsequent damage to the gearbox is not a consequence of the engine work we conducted.
We recall mentioning a potential whining noise from the gearbox during one of your visits, which should have prompted an independent inspection. You chose to have the gearbox repaired by a third party without consulting us, which prevents us from being able to assess the gearbox company's claims about the oil level or the cause of the failure.
Engine Shaking & Cylinder: We regret that the e-Car Alberton Service Centre is no longer operational, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this caused. However, our records show that the engine re-build was completed professionally. Any subsequent quote you received from another service provider regarding a "3rd cylinder" issue would need to be thoroughly investigated against the extensive work and new parts fitted during the original re-build. It is impossible for us to comment on the accuracy of the diagnostics of another workshop.
We understand your frustration with the total costs incurred on your vehicle. Our commitment was to deliver a professionally rebuilt engine, which we believe was executed to a high standard. We cannot accept responsibility for the independent failure of the gearbox, which was a separate, pre-existing component not serviced by us, especially since you elected to have it repaired elsewhere.

Disappointing workmanship
Endless problems after I had my repairs done,
I didn't take my vehicle back to them, I was in Jhb.when car gave problem,, had to spend+- R15000
More to get my vehicle sorted out.
