Reached out using the process required. Sent a series of photos that frankly made me wonder why an in person consultation - like other salons - wasn't offered. Waited six weeks. Haven't heard back. Would recommend a video consultation process at a minimum, but since I haven't been contacted, I assume the company isn't seeking my business.
Tarra is amazing!! Communication was easy and Tarra was very accommodating when it came to my schedule. After a quick conversation, she got right to work! The area space was nice and comforting and her dog is the best. I am just beginning my loc journey and she did fantastic giving me information and tips. 100% would refer her to anyone. Hair was immediately locked and I am very satisfied with the results. Embracing the journey and cannot wait to see progress.

Go when I got there. She didn’t prolong or take breaks. The area space was nice and comforting and her dog was really entertaining and cute. It is hard to find someone to do Caucasian loc extensions. Almost impossible. And a dam good

I booked a loc repair and maintenance appointment with Colby (the owner of Dreadlock Central). The initial communication was professional, and he quoted $320–$550 for 4–7 hours of work. However, during the appointment, Colby repeatedly complained about being tired, his hands hurting, and that we had gone over 7 hours. I was charged the full $550 — which was already the maximum quoted price — and afterward, he mentioned that he would charge extra in the future if a session went overtime.
I’ve never heard of or been charged extra because a stylist took longer than expected to complete their own service. That was never mentioned in his original message or quote. It came across as unprofessional, especially for the owner of the company. The quality of work was okay, but the overall experience and attitude were disappointing.
I won’t be booking again and just wanted to share my honest experience so others are aware before booking.

1. This was my first time meeting with you so I haven't worked with your hair before. I can make educated guess to what is entailed for your appointment, but cannot give exact estimates especially with this being your first appointment. You even said yourself that I went slightly over 7 hours and I still charged you within the range that I quoted you for. I don't understand how that's "unprofessional". Dreadlock Repair is unique to each person and these things sometimes take a considerable amount of time.
2. Stating that I was "Complaining about hands hurting" makes it sound like I was complaining about doing the work, which was not my intention, it was just part of our conversation and part of the process. And when you do this type of work every single day and have many clients to serve you have to protect your hands for the sake of longevity. It was nothing more than a statement within the context of our appointment together.
3. In your original quote I stated that your follow up appointments would be $150, and in your most recent text you asked about price again, and I said "root maintenance is almost always within 1-2 hours which is $150." So at no point did I ever charge you anymore than what I originally quoted you for, which you already agreed to by booking with me. Never once did I charge you more...
4. You referred to the possibility of going over the time and price estimate stating "That was never mentioned in his original message or quote." This is simply inaccurate. As a business wide standard we always send this disclaimer out with every single quote: "*It can be difficult to estimate time and price for first-time clients. Estimates may vary.*" This is in your original quote which I've sent you a screenshot highlighting this disclaimer. And once again, I still only charged you what I originally quoted you for.
5. I was right on time, but you were about 30 minutes late to your appointment and I didn't make a fuss about it at all. This is also why we ended up going slightly beyond 7 hours in the first place.
6. And finally, if you request more work beyond root maintenance I'm going to charge a higher price. It's that simple, any business would do that. And that's all I was expressing when saying the price may be higher if I'm taking more time to do more work.
7. I’m honestly not sure how you've taken a single part of your experience as being unprofessional. I delivered the service fully within the terms of the original quote which you agreed to, I didn't charge you extra even though we went over time because you were late, and I communicated everything very clearly along every step of the way. Our pricing is very transparent on our website, in our quotes, and everything is stated upfront before you agree to work with us. I do appreciate your feedback, but I’m genuinely surprised that you feel like any part of your experience was negative at all, but especially enough to leave a 1-star review.

Jordan did an amazing job on my husband’s dreads! She was super nice, professional, and really took the time to listen to everything my husband wanted for his hair. The studio was clean, comfortable, and had a great vibe overall. We really appreciated the attention to detail and how Jordan made the whole experience easy and relaxed. Highly recommend if you're looking for quality work and someone who truly cares about their clients

I moved back into the Central PA area in late 2019 from out West, but there were limited options for someone who used the crochet method and knew how to work with Caucasian loc’d hair.
After multiple appointments with different “locticians” in the area who claimed they knew how to worked on my hair, I finally found Dreadlock Central!!!!
Initially, about 4 years ago, a person who worked for Dreadlock Central worked on my hair in the York area and I had a really negative experience. Colby, the owner, contacted me after my feedback and wanted to correct the experience I’d had previously.
I decided to give Colby and his company a second chance and I am SO happy I did! Almost 3 years later…I refuse to let anyone else touch my locs.
Colby is always on time, professional, friendly, and does a fantastic job with my 7 year old mature locs! My hair goes well past my waist and Colby completes a full root maintenance in about 2/2.5 hours, yep - all 54 of them!
Prices are reasonable and my appointments consistent! Give Colby and Dreadlock Central a try - you won’t regret it!
