Visited during the weekend for a one night stay. Ben our host was amazing, very polite, friendly and service was attentive. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, and a wide range of options. Also caters for vegetarians very well, and alternative milks were also provided. Facilities in the room were great, and the setting is beautiful. Would definitely stay again!

4/5/2025 We came for a family breakfast, it was very good. Plenty of choice on the menu. All our food was hot, well cooked and nicely presented. Polite and friendly staff. Very reasonable price. Clean toilets and plenty of parking. Nice views over the countryside. Recommended. We came today for an Easter Egg hunt, our grandchildren had a great time. We met the Easter bunny, went into the large, heated marquee for face painting, crafts, hot food and drinks, sweets on all the tables. Outside there was mini golf, chickens, swings and a lake. Downham Hall is set in lovely, well kept gardens, with views over open country. Looks like a good place to hold a wedding

Birthday Brunch Excellent family Sunday breakfast. Service always very friendly and food very good quality as usual. Lovely relaxed place here. Would definitely recommend either for breakfast lunch or dinner. Plenty of parking here as well. See you again soon.

We celebrated our good friends birthday at Downham hall. The staff were lovely and helpful, my husband and I chose the 2 course menu for £28. Hubby having the duck starter, which he said was tasty. We both had the trout main course, the trout was perfectly cooked but the 3 halves of small new potatoes and 3 shriveled up asparagus spears was disappointing. The Amalfi lemon tart was delicious.

We stayed one night. Room was very comfortable with all the amenities we could have wanted. Very good food of high quality and well presented. Staff were very attentive and super efficient. Surrounded by lovely countryside. Every window had a wonderful view of green fields.

A wonderful stay Beautiful views of lush green countryside from every window. Bedroom was fantastic and bed very comfortable. Powerful shower with loads of hot water Food was of very high quality and wonderfully presented. The staff were very efficient and attentive. Could not fault anything.

Wonderful Place This hotel is like home from home and because I travel a lot and stay in corporate hotels, which can be very sterile, Downham was a great find and I would recommend it to anyone who wants peace and quiet. A great location for the surrounding areas too.

We held an event for 86 people in November in their Marquee which was a resounding success so we decided to go back there for another event for 34 people in their newly refurbished North Wing Restaurant. Absolutely perfection. Room layout first class. Staff, they couldn't do enough for us. Not just on the day but on the build up. So accommodating. Thank you to Christina, Debra, Ben and Andy in particular however the rest of the staff were first class. As for the chef, wow everyone said how good the food was. Highly recommend going there. Can also say others who attended and never been there before said they will definitely return with their family and friends.

Special place that we were fortunate to find. Needed to visit the area from Nottingham to attend a family funeral. Search on the internet helped us spot this Hotel and BOOKING DIRECT for a two night stay with breakfast secured the best price. Lovely setting, peaceful, very comfortable spacious bedrooms and welcoming attentive staff. The Hotel and rooms are decorated to a high standard. Breakfast is individually prepared and served in a lovely conservatory. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return again at the drop of a hat if we are back in the locality.

We are most grateful to them and highly recommend the venue. I had an afternoon tea for my baby shower and I couldn't fault any of it. The staff were amazing, the food incredible and the setting perfect. We had one guest who was gluten free and her afternoon tea was just as good as ours with a good selection of sandwiches,scones and cakes. We spent 4 hours there in the end but didn't once feel rushed to leave. It was the perfect afternoon to celebrate the imminent arrival of our baby. Thank you Downham hall!
