Donald was an awesome guide! Very professional. We fished 2 days, my 11 year old son and I. He was patient with my son and put us on a lot of fish. Be ready to start at 430am but the first hour was the best fishing both days. We caught about 30 bass the first day and around 60 on day 2. He obviously knows what he's doing. We already plan to go back in the fall. Would highly recommend booking with Donald Johnson. Thanks for the experience, Donald!

I have fished with Donald multiple times and have more planned in the future. There isn’t a more knowledgeable or helpful guide in all the land. Donald is truly like family!! He is quite simply the best there is!!! Give Donald a chance to earn your business and get ready for the trip fo a lifetime when you do!! You’ll thank me later!! Honestly 5 stars isnt near enough to really describe how good he is.

We had an amazing guided fishing trip with Mr. Donald! Not only was he a great guide who clearly knows what he’s doing, but he was also genuinely a wonderful person to spend the day with. He made the trip fun, comfortable, and memorable from start to finish. Our trip was a huge success — we caught 32 large mouth! But honestly, the experience and company were just as good as the fishing itself. Mr. Donald made us want to come back again, and we definitely will. Highly recommend booking a trip with him!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I chartered a fishing trip with Donald Johnson Fishing today for my son’s 10th birthday, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. We arrived in Guntersville at 5:50 a.m. and pushed off right at 6. By the time we reached our fishing spot, the action started immediately—the fish were biting nonstop! Since this was my son’s very first time fishing, Donald went above and beyond to make sure it would be the best experience possible for him. Just a few casts in, my son had his first bass on the hook and was reeling it in with a huge smile. That moment really set the tone for the entire trip—fun, exciting, and full of great memories. Donald’s patience, professionalism, and passion for what he does made the day unforgettable. Thank you, Donald Johnson Fishing, for helping us create such a special memory. Big Bake on the Move 2025.08.01

     

If you want to go fishing and want to have a next level experience Donald Johnson fishing is the only way to go. First class service from being at dock waiting for you and netting every fish to helping out the kiddos with his great personality. He doesn’t mind working with the kids to show them how to catch them even if they have very little experience. We boated 24 nice bass and even missed probably half a dozen more on just a short 4 hour trip. Having a blast and beating the heat was our goal and we left Guntersville more than satisfied. I am a repeat customer and will use Donald again in the future.

Mr. Johnson’s guide service is hands down some of the most fun I’ve had on water. He is very knowledgeable about lake Guntersville and fishing. He helped both my son and I on techniques to use when fishing, as well as some chart knowledge. My son landed his pb (7.11lbs) on our trip and it made our whole week. I definitely recommend Donald Johnson Fishing.
