UPDATE: It took posting this review for anyone at Diamond Hands to finally acknowledge my situation. Unfortunately they still failed to take meaningful action to correct the issues from my move.
The $200 they offered as “compensation” barely touched the actual damages and came with an implied stipulation of editing my review. (See photos) Instead of considering the detailed info I provided and the true repair values, they simply chose a number they felt my losses were worth or rather what they were willing to cough up. When I countered with a reasonable offer based on the documented damage and missing property, they never responded. I suppose my value as a customer is capped at $200.
They also ignored my request to speak with a senior manager, and my follow-up message remains unanswered.
Admitting mistakes means little if you refuse to adequately fix them. Their lack of corrective action undermines the sincerity of their response and makes it clear the priority is damage control… not countability.

I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Diamond Hands Moving Company. Despite providing an itemized list of my belongings in advance, the crew arrived with a truck that was far too small. Toward the end of the job, I was told the truck was already at capacity and I would either need to leave items behind or pay an additional fee for them to return another day to finish.
They also disregarded the strict two-hour delivery window at my new residence. Not only did they arrive well after the scheduled time… they showed up a full hour after I did, having taken an hour-long lunch break immediately beforehand. The only thing that saved the situation was the flexibility of my new building, which accommodated the late unloading so I could still move in.
Their pace during the load was extremely slow. Each time they left with items to place in the truck, they took close to an hour before returning. Whether this was due to the undersized truck and their need to rearrange items repeatedly, I can’t say for sure, but the delays were significant.
Multiple items were damaged, and the one piece I specifically flagged as delicate and valuable is the only item that never arrived at all… a vintage tulip lamp constructed of kimono silks, which has never surfaced. Other damages include:
• a missing foot on my coffee table, leaving it unusable unless replaced
• a puncture through a vintage artwork by a notable artist
• scratches on a restored wooden trunk
• enamel damage on a vintage designer standing lamp, reducing its value
• the front stand of my ice maker broken off
Despite providing my full item list, belongings were still overlooked during loading. Because of the time pressure and limited drop-off window, I ended up leaving items behind… including my bike in the bike room, which was overlooked despite being on the itemized list. I also abandoned large pieces like a solid-wood queen captain’s bed with under storage and a vertical dresser which I decided last minute not to take. Had I needed everything transported, it would have been impossible given how quickly the too-small truck filled.
When I contacted the company afterward to report the damages, the completely missing lamp and items left behind, I spoke with Adam, who was immediately argumentative and dismissive. He insisted nothing could have gone missing, despite not being present and not checking with the movers. He asked me to send a photo of the lamp and damaged items so he could “take care of” reimbursement. I sent the details by email and never received a single response from anyone at Diamond Hands Moving again.
They were unaccommodating throughout the entire process, did not complete the job, and left me to transport many items myself in repeated trips between East New York and Hudson Yards. I am left with damaged property, missing property, and zero accountability from the company.
I would not use Diamond Hands Moving again. There are many other moving companies in the city that will provide a far more professional and reliable experience.
I used them before and they played this game towards the end where they couldn’t get my bed out of the room, I helped and got it done, I complained about the time because it seemed like they were stalling at the end and they relented and gave me the price they quoted. So the next time I moved I used them again. This time it was much worse, the guys seemed to be confused about how to pack the truck, once again I had to help because they couldn’t figure it out, then when handling my lamp, a lamp I asked them to be careful with, they broke it. Add to that, they two hours to put my bed together lol! They charged me overtime again, then said they would reimburse me for the lamp after I paid. They never paid me. I am currently filing to take them to small claims court. Be careful because if they break your stuff they will not pay! Not only that, the workers here are very skilled in busy work and they will find a way to go over the time. Not to mention the workers are VERY aggressive regarding their tip. As if they deserve it whether they do a good job or not. OVERALL I DO NOT RECOMMEND definitely not a good experience
I recommend this moving company 100% the movers did a great job in and out, communication was very clear. The company works with you no matter your situation I did my move through HRA they treated me with respect even moved me a week earlier than my move in date. Book with them I promise you won’t be disappointed. Thank you diamond hands!
Diamond Hands Moving made our move seamless and stress-free! With the incredible help of AB and Adam, everything was handled with care and efficiency. They were professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure a smooth experience. Highly recommend their services for anyone looking for reliable and top-notch movers!
Let me know if you’d like any tweaks!
Avoid at all costs - please read the other negative reviews. I know everyone is just trying to make it in this world but I truly don't want my experience to happen to anyone else.
My experience with Diamond Hands Moving was a complete nightmare, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to look elsewhere. From start to finish, their service was disorganized, inefficient, and downright shady.
The move itself was an ordeal. It took an absurd 6 to 7 hours—far too long for what should have been a simple job. The crew showed up unprepared, using only one dolly for much of the move, and wasted time rearranging boxes instead of moving them efficiently. Despite being upfront about my specific packing needs, the team clearly lacked the planning and professionalism required to handle the job.
To make matters worse, when I voiced my concerns, their response was insulting. They offered a $200 credit for a future move and sent a $210 check. However, they explicitly stated they would cancel the check if I left a negative review. Let me be clear—this is incredibly shady and unethical behavior. Attempting to silence a dissatisfied customer with a thinly veiled bribe speaks volumes about their lack of integrity.
Looking at their online reviews, it's obvious I’m not the only one who has had a bad experience. Many recent reviews tell similar stories of inefficiency, overcharging, and poor customer service. The few glowing reviews are suspicious at best, as many are from accounts with little review history.
This company’s practices are unprofessional and borderline predatory. If you care about your time, money, and peace of mind, do yourself a favor and hire literally anyone else. Diamond Hands Moving is a disaster waiting to happen.
My first time using this company. I was 100 % satisfied with the movers. They were very nice. I can tell they were professionals. The way they packed everything was very well packed and protected. They did a great job and in a timely manner. I give them 5 stars and 💯 percent service excellence. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. 😌. Satisfaction guaranteed.
