We recently purchased a townhouse that had a lot of aging systems in need of replacement. We called on Valley Air because of their outstanding reputation and signed them on for four projects. They installed a new hot water tank, brought our dryer vent up to code, installed a new Trane heat pump, and removed/replaced all the old Quest plumbing. Each team who came to work on our home was courteous and highly professional. They showed up on time, explained exactly what they were going to do, patiently answered any questions we had, and completed the work to high standards. They also took great care to clean up the work area when the job was completed. A special shout out to Jim Vance for helping us choose the best heat pump for our needs; to Dakota who headed up the plumbing projects; and Dillon who oversaw the installation of the heat pump. We highly recommend Valley Air and will be relying on them for the ongoing maintenance of our new systems and for any future projects.

Technician arrived quickly, tested the equipment and explained the issue we were having. Fortunately no repairs were necessary but he explained the need to replace the filters and assured us our system was in order. He was very polite and knowledgeable.

Setting up an appointment with them via phone is easy. I also received an email & text confirmation prior to our scheduled HVAC maintenance check & a phone call the day of our appointment. They gave us a 2 hour window but Michael, the technician assigned to us arrived on time. The previous company that used to check our HVAC before, we have to wait for the whole day & we’re not even sure if they are coming or not. Michael is respectful & maintain professionalism all throughout during his visit. I don’t feel like he’s in a rush as well. He gave us a checklist showing the detailed status of our HVAC & even made some recommendations. It was a really good experience with Valley Air. I recommend them to others.

We were pleased with Dakota as our technician on a bathroom tub/shower job that involved a new shower head , tub spout and other involved components of the job. Job took around five hours. The cost of labor only was over 1,500.00. We purchased the Kohler parts ourselves. They said this was the average price for the job in our area. They do not breakdown the quote or final invoice to let you know how they determined the flat rate. I would not pay that much again without comparing other companies.

Chris and Matt both came to the house to diagnose the issue with the HVAC unit.... They found the problem immediately, Quoted the price (very reasonable) then ordered the part. Both guys were extremely knowledgeable and very polite.
Tyler came out a day or two later and was also very knowledgeable and polite. Fixed the issue very quickly! I will definitely use this company again!

This will be a long post. I arranged an appointment for a family member, who is a current customer of Valley Air having installed an HVAC system as well as the owner of a purchased maintenance contract. They were out of town for an extended period of time. I called on 10/16 and left a message with the answering service. My call was returned, and I explained that I needed a water heater replaced in a crawl space and that all materials were there. I was given an arrival time of 8:00-10:00 on 10/18. A few minutes later, I received a call stating that if I had everything there, they would schedule the time from 10:00-12:00 and the unit would be installed. I would need a 30-minute lead time to meet the plumber. At 9:30, I called to verify that we were still on schedule, as I had to leave work to meet him there. She checked and replied, "It's a good thing you called. He has been delayed with a problem on a job in Waynesboro and it will be more like 12:00. Will that be okay" to which I responded "yes". At 1:10 I received a call and left work. It was after 1:30 when the plumber arrived in Staunton which was understandable having grabbed lunch and drove from Waynesboro. When he arrived and saw that the water heater was for a crawl space, he said I am going to need another set of hands and am not sure we can get this done today, but I will take some pictures and check with the office. He said he was not told it was for a crawl space, but I told him I had told them it was for a crawl space. He did so and returned stating that the charge would be $695 (that was with a 12% maintenance contract discount) plus an $89 service charge. He was going to drain the tank and while that was draining, he was going to run across town and do another job, return with some help and complete mine. After an hour, (draining a 48- gallon tank on flat ground under a crawl space), I phoned back to the office to see how much longer it would be. She checked and said he had run into some problems at the other job and wondered if I could meet him back there between 4:00-6:00 that night or even worse, leave the house unlocked?? in today's world. Absolutely not! I told her neither were options for me. After all, my appointment for Wednesday, had been scheduled on Monday, so why should I be shuffled in between other jobs and inconvenienced? She said we could reschedule for Monday between 8:00-10:00 and that due to the confusion, they would waive the $89 service charge. I accepted the waived service charge and the appointment on Monday with a few stipulations. I told her I also felt that an additional discount would be appreciated as I was going to miss more time from work on Monday due to their mix up. We ended the call and in less than 10 minutes, she called back and "miraculously" the plumber had completed his "problem job" and was able to find an additional plumber to help him and they could be there in about 10 minutes. She asked if I wanted them to come or keep the Monday appointment. I told her to have them come. They arrived in about 15 minutes and started to work. I returned for work and the job was completed. However, when the homeowners returned, I understand they left scrap materials, etc. in the crawl space, which should have been taken. I have used Valley Air in the past and actually referred Valley to them. I was disappointed in the service I received in this situation. I will give credit in that they did install the heater that day, but it was not an easy endeavor.
