We have used Devonshire for a few projects now, when we lived in our old place Will, Rick, Katrina, and team helped us level our backyard and install an access ramp to get from the front of the house to the back and also fixed up our patio. Then after that we had a project where we had water pooling in our garage and Colin, Jaime, and Nick installed something like a French drain to take the water away from the house and garage and send it to the back alley. Both projects were done way faster than I had anticipated and were really well done. I have been happy every time I worked with them and will be using them in the future.

The dream team. Devonshire came out to my initial apocalyptic wasteland of a yard that defied several of my DIY attempts to salvage the situation and they completely transformed it into my new favorite place. They listened to what I wanted out of the space and were so friendly and helpful in refining it all to just the right project scope for balancing all my needs. The biggest item was the pergola structure extending from the roofline over the new patio and Rick and the whole crew absolutely knocked it out of the park. It's functional and gorgeous and a dream come true to have an all season space outside. The yard, thanks to Katrina's plant curation and design, is now a lush garden that is endlessly enjoyable to spend time in and it has downright transformed the feeling of the whole street. I'm very excited to witness it grow and change throughout the year. Devonshire went above and beyond many times throughout the project to make sure everything was satisfactory (including hauling away existing junk that was unrelated and not their problem), and they autonomously attended to many details that created a very polished final result. The project only hit a couple snags and they were incredibly accommodating and reasonable in getting to good solutions. They checked back often to make sure everything looked and worked as expected. I was so happy with their work that I had them do a few more things that were originally cut from the project scope, and I would work with them again in a heartbeat.
Update 1 year later:
I worked with Devonshire again on another project phase and it was great! I still love all the previous work they did, and this time they tackled the landscaping along the parking strip. I'm so pleased with the process and final result. Yet again they went above and beyond. The curb side of the new landscaping had some compacted gravel, and after they finished their work I noticed that they had also re-compacted all the other gravel paths in my yard. That was not in scope for this project or even discussed, but they are such thoughtful partners that they saw it could use a touch-up, had the equipment right there, and just took care of it. I'm convinced there are other similar details that they kindly and quietly do that I don't even notice, I just happened to notice this one.

The team at Devonshire Landscapes is truly amazing and we worked with all of them! From much involved permitting complications with the city, to design ( that also kept the city happy) and to dirt removal and replanting we could not have asked for a better team. They advocated for us, kept us well informed, did great work, did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it, and we enjoyed every single person on their team that we interacted with. Oh and the maintenance team did a great clean up job on making our overgrown garden look good again. We are looking forward to our next project with them!

(update) One of the best decisions I made with my new landscaping was to install irrigation. Colin McWhorter is the irrigation technician for Devonshire and I most highly recommend him. His customer service is exceptional-he replies to all inquiries large or small right away. He is friendly and professional. No matter what kind of question I may have Colin is patient and very knowledgable. Colin's expertise and customer service are outstanding.
Devonshire has transformed my backyard over the past 2 years from a crabgrass wasteland into an oasis. I did not really know what I wanted when I first contacted them, but I knew that I did not want grass or a lawn. Rick & Katrina helped design and create a beautiful, interesting and very sustainable garden. I can't say enough about the team! The installation and irrigation crews do amazing work-showing up early in the morning to work full hours until the job is done come rain or hail or sun. The whole team is professional, super talented, and great at communicating the cost and the timeline. I am so pleased that I found Devonshire and most highly recommend them to everyone in the West Seattle area.

Update: I have been using Devonshire also for landscaping for a few years now. Miguel and Nelson have done a great job on my yard. They proactively make a different plan each week and make sure everything is looking good in my yard year round.
I used Devonshire's design services and installation for a new seating area, with sauna, and lighting. Rick and Katrina were fantastic to work with. Katrina's designs were exactly what we were looking for and could not be happier. The installation team was meticulous in their work, giving the new landscaping a handcrafted feel. Just an incredibly smooth and enjoyable experience. We look forward to having more designs done in the future by Devonshire.

The team at Devonshire Landscaping did a great job updating my watering system that needed a bit of retrofitting and improvement. Led by Ezequiel Rosaldo who came out in advance to make a plan and communicate clearly about what would be done, his team, including Ramiro and Jacinto. delivered seamlessly and efficiently. As they all had such positive attitudes and seemed to be enjoying doing the job well, I felt confident that I could trust the system would operate as described and updated for years to come. Ezequiel was also great about sharing that if anything wasn’t quite right that they would return promptly or at any point down the road to address any items. I have worked with Devonshire on multiple projects including building a retaining wall with cyclone fence on top, lawn restoration, etc. This time I asked them to trim a laurel hedge (100 x50 feet), several bushes and remove a rhododendron and plant a new bush in its place. The work was always done professionally and with extremely pleasant people. Ezequiel Rosaldo did a great job listening to my requests and supervising the work. I will always contact them first when I need help with my extensive garden needs.

My backyard was a mess with a bunch of tall crappy/clumpy grass, ivy on the fence, and a bunch of blackberry growth.
They came by and took care of everything while I was at work. I came home to a nice surprise, backyard looked best I've ever seen it after living here for 15 years. Very pleased.

The team did fantastic work completely replacing my overgrown/abandoned yard, replaced damaged retaining walls and patio, added paver walkways, irrigation, designed and planted a wonderful garden. They were professional, communicated very clearly and answered my questions quickly. The yard is beautiful and I expect to enjoy it for a long time.

We hired Devonshire in 2021 for a design-build project to rebuild our front yard. Working with Devonshire has been the top experience we’ve had across a handful of construction projects at our house, and we would work with them again and recommend them to others, both for design/construction and maintenance.
Our house has no back yard, so the front yard needs to incorporate a certain amount of privacy without looking walled off. The Devonshire team came up with an attractive and functional design that respected our budget requirements: new fencing and gate, a level patio area topped with pavers, retaining walls, drainage, automatic irrigation, and low maintenance plantings, among other things. The design brought our yard into alignment with local codes, increased the functionality, and improved the look.
Construction went smoothly for the most part, and issues were resolved to our satisfaction. The project manager, Rick, was available/responsive, communicated well, and made sure we understood the implications/limitations of various decisions/choices.
Four years later, the work is holding up well. Along the way, Devonshire has sent people out to make adjustments as things wore in. They have truly stood by the work.
The maintenance team is reliable and effective. They come when they say and provide reports when work is completed. Dan, the maintenance manager, communicates well and is responsive. They do a good job with routine work and special/seasonal tasks (cleanups, power washing, etc.).

After an initial walk through and work assessment from Ezequiel Rosaldo, the hardworking team of Julio, Edson and Cecilio from Devonshire Landscapes came out for a massive overgrowth cleanup of our yard including weeding, pruning and lawn care. We were amazed at how much they were able to accomplish in one day. All of our needs and requirements were so well explained to the work team by their estimator, Ezequiel, it wasn’t necessary for us to provide a single instruction or clarification once the team was on site. Everything trimmed was picked up and hauled away afterward and we are left only with a yard that looks better than it has in YEARS. We were also given suggestions for future maintenance and pruning schedules best suited to our trees and shrubs. We couldn’t be more satisfied with these professionals - well worth your time to check them out.
