We hired DeVol Design Build Remodel to construct a first floor addition to our 170 year old home. The plan required removing a substantial black walnut tree, filling a century old cistern, excavating for a poured concrete foundation, additional electric wiring, tying in Hvac, and creating a master suite, powder room, and master bath. It was a lengthy process due mostly to a mid-autumn start, holidays, bitter cold, rain and snow. And like in dominos, one delay affected whatever followed. Despite the delays, the DeVol team was professional, communicative, and always considerate. The quality of their work is excellent. No cutting corners, or excuses. One supplier provided a mismatched batch of white penny tile that was only discovered after it had been set. No problem, the floor was done again ASAP. DeVol and their coordination with sub-contractors completed all aspects of the addition with care, quality materials and superior craftsmanship. In sum, we are pleased with the results and have no reservations in our recommendation of their services.

Jeff, the owner, is very hands on and communicated with us on a daily basis: what the plan was, timing, who was going to be in our home, what they were planning to do, etc. He was honest, creative, and diligent with all matters. His crew, as well as his subcontractors, were very responsible and considerate of our home and the space around the working area. Having a designer as part of his process was also a tremendous help and a welcomed touch for selections and layout of the new design. Their pricing, albeit not the cheapest, was fair and accurate and did not change throughout the process. You get what you pay for - and they were worth every penny. We had a terrific experience with DeVol in completing a total renovation of our kitchen, installation of continuous flooring on our first floor, Installation of a 2nd floor HVAC system, fixing our front porch, and completing aesthetic repairs to the exterior of our 100yr old home in Hyde Park, Cincinnati. The DeVol Team was extremely open and collaborative during the planning phase. They did a great job of coordinating efforts with Brian Schwieterman (ESM Architects) and Annie Miller (Annie Miller Design). This trio of companies worked great together and produced a terrific result. During project execution, DeVol provided clear timelines and made many accommodations for us to live on-site during most of the project. We look forward to working with DeVol again in the future when we tackle our master bathroom.

As we age, I want our home to be safe for us, and functional regardless of age or ability, so we won't need to leave it. I had priorities that were non-negotiable. As all of my family are immunocompromised or at risk, everyone who comes in our home must be masked at all times. I wanted the lowest maintenance materials and design possible, as I am beyond done with cleaning grout. I was surprised that those two things were too much to ask for some companies I spoke with. Mike and Kelly worked with us on every bit of it, and made sure we were happy with every aspect, from the big issues like layout of the bathrooms, to the fidgety stuff like fixtures and colors. Scott and his team were fabulous. They were very respectful, and wore a mask indoors 100% of the time, so we felt safe with them. They made sure to get our input so that everything from grab bars to sink and mirror placement were just right. Every time an issue came up, which is inevitable in an old house, they solved it with zero fuss. They were careful around the basement waterproofing we had just had done. They paid attention to every detail. They made sure to clean up every day before they left, and hauled away the trash. Mike and Scott and Kelly all communicated in a timely manner, and always kept us up to date on expectations - whether it was ETA on delivery of materials or the timeline of work. We could not be happier with their work! I recommend them wholeheartedly, with NO reservations. We would absolutely hire them again, and will once we are ready to redo the kitchen.

The finished product is absolutely what we were looking for and then some! We have all the space we need, giving us the ability to move our daughter around in the house, the bathroom and all over! They even made sure that getting her in and out of the car in the garage was safe and easy for us.

Over 15 years ago Devol Design remodeled our house in Anderson Township. We converted a garage into a kitchen- dining room and added a new stair tower. The house was transformed from a cramped, compartmentalized 1970 transitional to a modern, open and spacious space with sight lines to multiple rooms from every room. The remodel has aged well! A testament to the quality of the workmanship. Devol was very conscientious about communicating expectations and ensuring I was comfortable during this major overall. 15 years later and I am stilled thrilled by the results. My only regret was not hiring Devol sooner, so that I would have had more years of truly enjoying my home.
