We chose the seven-course tasting menu, and each dish showed real thought in both flavor and presentation, the food itself was exquisite. The chef brings you into a culinary experience and the location is beautiful.
However, the experience was a little bit disappointing. Dinner lasted four hours, with waits of up to an hour between courses. Meanwhile, a nearby table was served dishes in quick succession, which made the delays even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the long pauses between courses overshadowed what was otherwise an excellent meal.
A family restaurant serving multi-course menus. The food was amazing with surprisingly decent portion sizes for a restaurant of this style. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the service was excellent.
A dining experience that feels like a journey through Dutch heritage, guided by craftsmanship and storytelling. De Silveren Spiegel brings its 7 Course Menu to life through the vision & passion of Yves Van Der Hoff whose culinary voice is present in every detail.
Each course unfolds like a conversation starting light & expressive with trout and citrus, moving into the elegance of white asparagus & beurre blanc, then building depth with lamb & guinea fowl, before closing with beautifully composed desserts. The balance, sequencing & flavor layering reflect a chef who understands not just technique but emotion on a plate.
The setting completes the experience with a historic Dutch interiors that feel intimate, authentic, & rich in character, as if time itself is part of the concept.
A rare moment where chef, cuisine, and heritage align seamlessly creating something that goes beyond dining into pure expression.
Truly delightful experience. Exceptional skill from the kitchen. A wonderful evening.
Heerlijke gegeten in dit restaurant. Bijna onverwachts goed in zo’n toeristisch gebied.
Wij komen terug.
Zo he! Geweldig!
An unforgettable fine dining experience!
The tasting menu was absolutely exceptional — every course was beautifully presented and perfectly balanced in flavor. The fish dishes were especially outstanding, fresh, elegant, and full of depth. The atmosphere in this historic building was warm and romantic, and the service was impeccable from beginning to end.
This was truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The attention to detail, creativity, and quality were remarkable. I highly recommend De Silveren Spiegel to anyone visiting Amsterdam — it is a must-visit restaurant.
A true culinary experience! Maybe one of the best meals I have ever had in my life! Got the tasting menu and it was delicious. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
Goed
Had an amazing experience here, Francisca and Chris made the meal especially memorable both courteous and charming, with Chris having exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous nature to ensure your table is perfect. The presentation, quality and taste of each course is wholly deserving of the restaurant being Michelin starred. The intimate size of the venue and historic building adds a lot to the atmosphere and is not as cold as other contemporary restaurants can be at this price point. It provides a great warmth and makes the dining feel very relaxed. I would definitely recommend and hope to see it awarded its first star of three.
A fabulous experience, one of the best fine dining meals we’ve had - between the services the food and the wine, in a beautiful old building. Usually there’s one dish which leaves us unimpressed but here every mouthful was exceptional. Well done
Superba esperienza, indimenticabile!
