Great tour, good food, good value, no port wine
Great tour at a good price. My only disappointment was that we didn't actually try any port wine. It was my last day in Porto and, as someone who doesn't drink a lot, I had skipped the port tastings in the city expecting to try some on this tour. The wines we did try were good, but none were port. The thing I liked best about this tour was the scenery and learning about the area, including wine production and the unique aspects of the area that make it a UNESCO site. Initially I was disappointed by the quantity of food on the boat ride (which was a nice part of the tour), but then we got to Amarante and ate quite a bit there, so I was happy. I recommend this tour if you're not expecting to drink port wine.
Beautiful day trip.
The tour was amazing. Our tour guide Miguel was great. He was knowledgeable, funny and very helpful. The trip was awesome we loved the boat ride the most. The food in the boat was very nice. The tour was very accommodating I don’t eat Gluten and they had gluten free dishes including dessert for me. I highly recommend this tour.
Excellent Tour
We had a girl trip plan and decided to do a wine tour. We chose this excursion because we would be able experience the Douro River from land and the river. The train ride up the Douro was a beautiful and unique experience. The boat ride on the river gave a different perspective of the beauty of this region. Our tour guide was excellent. He spoke English. He kept us entertained and informed about just about everything pertaining to the region. We had a delicious lunch at a authentic Portuguese restaurant. The food was amazing. I wish if I could come back and I have another dining experience at this restaurant. There was unlimited wine. I highly recommend the tour. It was intimate and fun. Saw the vineyards and tasted both delicious Portuguese food and wine.

If you really want to see the Duro Valley, there is no better way than to take the Duro River Boat Tour that includes lunch and a return trip to Pinhao on the train. Be sure to book the lunch at the train station prior to returning back to Pinhao. You can do no better than having guide “Jesus” from Deltatur Pinhao tours. He was a wonderful guide who kept our glasses topped up with an excellent Preseco. Lunch was the best I have had in Portugal. So much food, Jesus advises you to “pace”yourself, to be able to try all of the flavours Portugal has to offer. The train back was also another great experience. You cannot go wrong taking this tour I highly recommend.
