My friend and I were part of a wine tour that stopped in Pinhao for a boat ride. We were warmly welcomed by Nuno and Luis who were incredible hosts. Nuno knew so much about the area and spent a lot of time teaching us about the region. Luis was a great boat driver who kept us safe. Both gentlemen were incredible and always kept our wine glasses full. I can’t thank them enough for giving us a memorable experience on the water.

Boat trip was overbooked we could not go.

We had a wonderful day tour with Gonçalo! He is the best! It was feeling like you were with a friend. He took care of us, explained a lot of things about the history of the region. We recommend 100%

We paid €180 pp for a private guided tour within the Douro Valley, from 10am-5pm. In advance I was given the choice between several wineries and restaurants and we agreed on two specific wineries, one of them being “Adega H.O - An end of day private wine experience”. On the day our guide had an itinerary without this winery on it. We immediately notified him and he contacted the office but they could not offer us what we booked, and suggested we visit the second winery immediately after the first, and have lunch (at our own expense) at 2pm. This was not ideal for us because we had a dinner booked at 7pm, and also it was not the “end of day private wine experience” we were expecting. Ultimately we agreed because otherwise we would not have been able to visit H.O. winery at all. Our guide then took a wrong turn which resulted in even more delays and we ended up spending far more time en route than if we had visited the wineries in the order as agreed up front, which was unfortunate as my partner gets very car sick. Also, we didn’t arrive at the restaurant for lunch until 3pm, and back at our hotel until 7pm. At no point was I contacted to offer apologies and it was even hinted that there was a miscommunication on my part, even though I have written confirmation of what I booked. We paid in full and tipped upon drop off, then a week or so later I sent a message detailing my complaint about the day and had no response. Since then I have sent two more messages with no response. We had a great day, and especially enjoyed the boat ride, but for that price I would expect that the day was as booked and I was offered an apology and compensation for the lack of planning.

Uma experiência que vamos aconselhar a toda a gente. Fizemos o passeio de barco no Douro com almoço. A única crítica construtiva é o cais estar melhor identificado, dado que foi confuso e só conseguimos encontrar porque vimos alguém na rua com um pólo e perguntámos. Relativamente à viagem, é sempre incrível andar no meio destas paisagens. O almoço, tinham-nos avisado que era bom, mas nem conseguimos estômago para provar todas as iguarias. Sem dúvida que vale cada cêntimo. Uma excelente parceria entre passeio e restaurante certos. A volta de comboio era algo que queria fazer há muito tempo e foi também a oportunidade perfeita. Fantastic experience with Pedro and crew for a 1h sunset tour. The guys were very friendly and took good care of our family. They had drinks available for all ages to ensure all guests had a great time. River boat ride was calm and allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty at a leisurely pace. Going at a relaxed rhythm enabled us to appreciate all the hidden building on the river banks.

My husband and I had a lovely time cruising down the river at sunset with Pedro. He was friendly and informative but also happy to let us chat with each other without interjecting. There was a nice breeze on the river and the speed of the boat was just right. Highly recommend!
