I’m updating my earlier positive review because my experience with Sila over the past two years has been extremely disappointing. In 2023, Sila replaced the heat pump at my home, and initially everything seemed to go smoothly. However, since then I’ve been dealing with ongoing predatory billing attempts for a $400 charge that I do not owe. Sila's own representative confirmed in writing that I was not responsible for the $400. My contract and invoice also note that the $400 was to be deducted from the total as part of a BGE rebate. Despite this, Sila has continued to send me “overdue” invoices for the same $400—sometimes within days of each other.
I have spent well over a year trying to get this corrected. I’ve called, emailed, and even mailed letters. I was repeatedly reassured that the issue would be resolved, yet the invoices kept coming. Sila has still not provided a corrected statement showing a zero balance despite multiple requests from me to do so.
On top of that, I discovered that Sila never obtained the electrical permit from Howard County for the installation—despite their initial statements, despite the invoice stating that this would be included in the price, and despite county regulations (yes, I have confirmed with HoCo’s office of inspections and permits that an electrical permit is required even when the system is replacement of an existing one!).
This has now dragged on for nearly two years. What should have been a routine installation has turned into a frustrating and time-consuming ordeal. I no longer have confidence in Sila’s honesty or customer service, and I cannot recommend them based on how they’ve handled this situation.
Sila's complete lack of response and refusal to resolve this issue left me no choice but to contact the Maryland Attorney General’s Office for assistance. In the event that Sila responds to my review by denying any of these facts, I have included photos that clearly document everything stated here.

I had Lucas out today to perform a heating tune-up on our 1-year-old hybrid heat pump/gas furnace system, and I was very impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of the service. He carefully tested all key components, including the thermostat, ignition process, inducer motor, hot surface igniter, flame pattern, flame sensor, and safety devices.
Overall, I appreciated his clear communication, attention to detail, and proactive approach. Highly recommend!
