Thank you for your review - and thank you for telling us you were considering permanent pest control insulation.

I take this an opportunity to caution its use for several reasons. Most commonly we're referring to cellulose insulation treated with Diatomaceous earth insecticide, so I'll address that in particular.

While it may help with silverfish, scorpions and sometimes roaches, it can also create a lot of negative aspects for home owners.

First of all, the installation of cellulose insulation creates an enormous amount of dust, so a certified breathing mask is absolutely essential.

Not only that, it is very common for some of that dust to make its way from the attic in to one's living space.

Breathing shredded paper dust shed from cellulose insulation can cause respiratory problems in the long run.

Common symptoms may include irritated, itchy, watery, or burning sensation of the eyes, nose, or throat, or itchy skin or skin rashes.

Add to that, if diatomaceous earth is inhaled, it may irritate the nasal passages, cause coughing and/or shortness of breath and cause skin irritation and and eye irritation.

Plus... dry-blown cellulose sags and it settles, reducing its R-value over time.

It is for those reasons we use blown-in fiberglass.

I was debating whether to bring up your concern regarding our arrival time and our crew being on site at 8:15am waiting for you to arrive and provide access to the attic entrance in the garage so they could do their work ... but after some thought, I've decided not to say anything about it.

You said something about the 'very soft depth marker' .. I'm not sure what exactly that means, but let's address it by saying, "It's good practice to know for sure - that's why we take photos after the job is complete."

And finally (talking about photos)... the photo you include in your review shows a driveway with many years of weather, dirt and debris build up.

I can't imagine what that has to do with your attic, but I don't want to leave you without a solution -- so I have taken time to Google power washing services in your area and found many to choose from.
