Damien, this was a good one to work on. A fireplace hearth and a bathroom floor pull in completely different directions, one has to shrug off heat and the other lives in water year round, so setting both on the same job and getting them to look right meant slowing down on the small details most people never notice. Hearing that the craftsmanship showed and that the whole thing felt easy on your end is the best part of doing this work. Folks trust us with rooms they live in every day and we don’t take that lightly. Glad we got to do it for you.

I am very impressed with Davie Mac Tile and would hire them again. After trying to contact 7-8 different tiling companies for a small repair job, Davie Mac was the only company who responded to my request. I worked with “Mari” and she was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful and didn’t tell me to just replace the tiles! Mari and another employee came out today to address tile damage I had in a tiled shower that deteriorated the surface of some tiles. They were on-time, professional, and did a great job cleaning, sealing, and re-caulking the whole shower and were very reasonably priced. I was very pleased and would hire them again.

Davie Mac did a great job with our bathroom; it was a gut remodel (down to the studs) and removal of a bathtub, followed by build-back with Schluter tile board and Schluter Ditra decoupling mat on the floor. Davie and Mari did a great job keeping in touch and updated on progress, and decisions we needed to make. They also did a great job coordinating with the plumber and the glass subcontractor, which was one of the worries I had with other installers who were only going to do tile work. So the plumber was scheduled to redo lines at the correct time, keeping the project on track. Also, you learn the most when things go wrong: our downstairs neighbor reported that some grout or thinset had splashed onto her porch from the work above. Davie Mac came back to clean this up, after we had completed our final payment. The photos show the completed job, the 'before' conditions, and the job in progress, after substrate preparation, but before tile installation.

From the first moment of contact with Mari until the very end of installation- Davie Mac was phenomenal. They were recommended to us by another trusted tile guy that wasn’t doing work in our area and we are so glad we listened and went with them. Davie came out promptly to look and we discussed the options regarding our job. The work was started fairly quickly after we agreed on the scope- about a week and a half later. The communication with Mari on every detail, and letting us know who was going to be at our house to work and when. She always asked if it would be ok for them to work on Saturday or if they came by on Sunday to do a water check for leaking etc. They respected our space. The attention to detail was amazing. This is how every company should run and treat their clients. The tile work is beautiful- the end result was exactly what we were dreaming of. We will recommend them to anyone and everyone and most definitely use them again if we ever have the need.

They followed the install exactly and were more concerned with the outcome than time spent. I am so pleased with the final result! Davie Mac installed my kitchen backsplash after a remodel. The tile was handmade, Fireclay, and I didn't quite trust my contractor's tile guy, who seemed like more of a handyman, and had never seen tile mosaic with tape on the front. From the first time I reached out to Davie Mac, I knew I was in good hands. Mari was wonderful at quickly getting the contract out so I could pay and book a time, and on the day of the install she was there to talk though things, offer suggestions and ultimately make sure the job would run smoothly. Throughout the day, when things came up, she was available by text or phone. The installer worked carefully and efficiently, and clearly knew what he was doing. He even managed to compensate for my not-quite-straight walls so that the tile looks great. And he left the house spotless. I would not hesitate to recommend them, and if I ever need more tile work done, I'm telling my contractor we're using Davie Mac.
