After contacting this business a few weeks ago and getting them to work on recovering my data, they recovered absolutely nothing. What makes it even worse is the fact I had to pay them £180 before they even started to try recovering the data. They said that the £180 payment is because someone had already opened the hard drive to rectify the problem. So now I am £180 out of pocket and still cannot see any pictures of my children when they were young. So disappointed as this is sentimental data.

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience and truly understand how upsetting it must be losing your data.
Unfortunately, when a hard drive has already been opened before it reaches us, especially if it wasn’t done in a proper cleanroom environment, there's a risk that the internal components may have been compromised by dust or prior handling. This makes the recovery process significantly more difficult, and in many cases, reduces the chances of success.The £180 fee was required due to the fact the drive had already been opened prior to arriving with us, which changes the recovery process significantly. However, it was entirely your choice whether to proceed with the recovery attempt after we explained the risks and associated cost.
Had the drive been brought to us first in its original condition, we may have had a better chance at recovery, and it would have fallen under our standard "no recovery, no fee" policy.

My computer 'C:' SSD drive developed a fault and refused to boot up. The shop where I bought the PC was unable to rectify the fault and had to replace the SSD card. I bit the bullet and invested in 'Data Recovery Lab' to try and rescue my data from the old SSD with a 'No fix No fee' deal. This turned out to be a100% successful recovery although the SSD card was not reusable. Data Recovery Lab were very helpful and prompt in sorting out my 'nightmare' situation. Excellent service. I had a problem with my hard drive, the computer was showing that all my data had been lost, I didn’t have much hope of any recovery. However, I spoke with Mahsa over the phone who was absolutely brilliant, she told me about the procedure that could be taken with the possibility of the recovery of the data. I was told at the time that I would be told prior to recovery if it was possible or not. I was absolutely amazed by the technicians and the team how quickly and efficiently the data was recovered. Upon recovery I was sent the invoice which I paid immediately. The data was returned to me within 3 days, no delays. A very professional and experienced data recovery company. Hopefully, I don’t encounter the same problem again however if any future services are needed Mahsa would be my first point of contact and I would definitely recommend this company without a doubt. Fantastic company. Strongly recommend if you need data retrieval. I required data retrieval from a usb stick that had snapped. The usb contained important data required for my thesis due in only a few weeks. I found this company online as all local ones had to send off products to a lab for repair and I wanted somewhere to do this in house. They offered to keep the office open a little longer as I had to drive an hour and a half to get there. The following morning I was sent an email saying they were working on retrieval and would update me with an estimated time frame as soon as possible. An hour later I was sent my data. Whole process took less than 24 hours which was exactly what I needed with the urgency of my situation.
