Excellent tour!!! Wow!!! Rick met us on time and gave us safety instructions on the boat. He then answered some questions about commercial fishing in Alaska. So interesting to learn about the salmon industry. All I can say about this tour is Rick brings the goods!! His boat is beautiful, stocked with snacks and drinks. His knowledge is impressive about the wildlife and the area. He is a local boy who knows the ins and outs of finding the wildlife. We started our day looking at otters and got a very impressive visit by two eagles. We then found grey whales!!! Bucket list item checked off. A Surprise visit by a small orca pod with baby was a delight. We finished off the day with a swim by of a sea lion. It was just the best day!! So worth the price.

Our whale watching tour with Rick in Sitka was incredible! From the moment we stepped on the boat, Rick and his daughter Stevie made us feel welcomed! They were kind, friendly, and truly passionate about what they do. They took us all around the waters of Sitka and got us amazingly close to the whales and otters, giving us views we will never forget. It was such a breathtaking and memorable experience. Their knowledge and hospitality made this tour the highlight of our trip. If you're visiting Sitka and looking for a whale watching tour, I cannot recommend Rick enough. This was hands down the best tour we experienced in Alaska. Thank you, Rick and Stevie, for an unforgettable adventure!

Our family of 6 had the best morning with Rick! Comfortable boat, yummy snacks, and a great guide. We loved learning SO much from Rick about life in Sitka and all the wildlife in the area. He was great at finding us humpbacks and the cherry onto was the two otters at the very end. Plus seals too! If you want a personal, educational experience, I highly recommend Rick with Coastal Tours.

One of the best experiences of our life. We had a wonderful experience, this a small group which meant we got to speak with Rick the entire time. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. The boat was comfortable and he had the heater on ! Which made my mother happy coming from the very hot Perth Australia. We were on a cruise, booking a private tour can be a little of the unknown. However Rick’s communications was amazing, the meeting point was easy to find. That says a lot for 3 women. We were so lucky to see a brown bear grazing on the beach, followed a whale as he frolicked in his natural habitat. We seen sea lions, sea otters and eagles. We feel so lucky and blessed to have experience and we thank Rick for being an amazing host.

Great boat, great captain and a great experience It was a rainy mid-morning in Mid-May when we did our tour with Rick. Very nice and clean boat, comfortable inside seating with heat and a restroom! Not a lot of whales around mid-May but Rick worked hard to find us a couple of them. He also took us around to see the Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Bald Eagles and a Bald Eagle nest. We learned a lot about Sitka from Rick. I would highly recommend Rick for everyone. He does a great job.

Expensive boat ride, not much to see. Rick is great. It is probably too early in the season for real wildlife viewing. There were virtually no interactions--the whale surfaced briefly several times but we were very far away. The sea otters were too shy to see up close--so when we were close enough they submerged. It turned out to be just a very expensive boat ride. The provider was professional, the boat clean and safe, the ride was fine. Later in the season when opportunities to see whales and otters increases, we would use him again.

Wonderful Experience with Capt Rick! We had a wonderful adventure with Capt Rick. He was very knowldegable and personable and knew where to find the wildlife. We saw whales, eagles and sea otters and had a great time. His boat hold up to 6 guests so it's not overcrowded. Drinks and snacks were served. Rick went out of his way to make sure eveyone had and enjoyable experience. The scenery was breathtakingly beautiful. Highly recommend!!!

Breath taking tour! Rick was so amazing and accommodating! I didn’t see availablitly on his calendar for our date but he was quick in response and got our tour set up! We saw grey whales , sea otters, puffins, seals and other birds like 30 feet away! If you do a whale watching tour make sure you get in ricks boat! You will not be disappointed!

An Incredible Experience We had an absolutely incredible time on our whale watching tour with Rick! He’s been a local since he was just 3 years old, and his knowledge of the area and wildlife made the experience even more special. We saw it all—breaching whales, sea lions, otters, eagles, and even bears eating salmon. It was truly the highlight of our trip and an unforgettable experience. Rick personalized our tour to what we wanted to see and was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Sitka. We saw tons of humpback whales, sea lions, otters, baby eagles, and even a bear catching salmon on the shoreline! Rick's boat is very comfortable and allows for some incredible views.
