Breath taking tour!
Rick was so amazing and accommodating! I didn’t see availablitly on his calendar for our date but he was quick in response and got our tour set up! We saw grey whales , sea otters, puffins, seals and other birds like 30 feet away! If you do a whale watching tour make sure you get in ricks boat! You will not be disappointed!

An Incredible Experience
We had an absolutely incredible time on our whale watching tour with Rick! He’s been a local since he was just 3 years old, and his knowledge of the area and wildlife made the experience even more special. We saw it all—breaching whales, sea lions, otters, eagles, and even bears eating salmon. It was truly the highlight of our trip and an unforgettable experience. Fantastic tour! Captain Rick is awesome and very knowledgeable of the area. We saw a bunch of whales, sea lions, and even a bear along the coastline!! Great boat and just a lot of fun. This tour is a must do for anyone visiting Sitka because of the proposal :)

Our tour with Captain Rick was on the last day of our 2-week trip to Alaska and we absolutely saved the best for last! Rick personalized our tour to what we wanted to see and was extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife in Sitka. We saw tons of humpback whales, sea lions, otters, baby eagles, and even a bear catching salmon on the shoreline! Rick's boat is very comfortable and allows for some incredible views. He also grew up in Sitka so hearing his perspective made this tour all the more interesting. I could not recommend Coastal Tours more, amazing experience!! :)

We had the best time! I’m so happy we booked our Whale watching tour with them. We saw Bears going after Salmon and a bunch of Whales diving for food. Rick gave us a lot of information while in the boat, as much information on the history of the area as my son learned at the Science Center. Would definitely recommend booking with them!!

He was incredibly knowledgeable about the animals and the area, which made the experience both fun and educational. We saw so much wildlife—whales, sea lions, otters, and salmon. The boat was the perfect size, very clean, and even had snacks and water available. There was a covered area on board, though with such beautiful weather we didn’t need it. This was truly a highlight of our trip to Sitka, and I’d highly recommend Rick and Coastal Tours to anyone visiting!

Rick was an awesome guide and very informative! He knew exactly where to go to view wildlife. We saw salmon jumping, brown bears, whales, eagles, and sea otters. He was also great with our 5-year-old! His boat is spotless and comfortable and there were snacks and water bottles provided. Great experience!!!

guide is knowledgeable, chill and a local! Was at about 3-5 years experience when we toured with him and yes we saw whales! tons haha probably between 4-5, 3 very up close. knows how to read the water and whales and when to leave vs. wait! a few small snacks are on board to lighten the tour which was about 4 ish hours! saw the views and some otters and sea lions also.
Totally would recommend him! answered all my questions which ranged from all things alaska and Sitka to whales and biology and just life

Rick was an amazing captain/guide. As a local, he knew all the right stops to make our trip memorable. We saw more whales than we could count as well as sea lions, sea otters and eagles. Rick was very informative and his boat was very clean and comfortable. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Sitka.

Last minute decision on cruise ship to go whale watching. Best thing ever. Captain Rick was so knowledgeable about the whales and put us on them. Look outside cruise ship and support the local guys especially Rick. Thanks for the awesome memories.

We had a great time going whale watching in Sitka, Alaska with Rick! His boat was wonderful and comfortable and we appreciated it being a small group of people. It was well worth what we paid for. We saw whales, bears, otters, eagles, and so much more! Rick was kind and super knowledgeable about Sitka and the fishing scene with his experience. If we come to Sitka we absolutely would take this tour again with Rick!

Hands down our favorite tour we did on our Alaskan cruise. Captain Rick was amazing. Very family friendly, I was nervous my 4 year old would terrify him but he’s a family guy and was super patient in slowing down and making sure we got to see whales. Our toddler also fell asleep about half way through the tour and he had the perfect spot to catch a snooze aboard the Goleta! His boat is SO clean, tidy and comfortable (& bathroom on board). Highly recommend for small groups. He is an Alaskan native so it was really cool to hear about life in Sitka, he made me want to move there. We saw whales, eagles, otters, salmon and amazing scenery. Highly recommend! His wife also creates these amazing post cards which we already have framed in the house- ensure you grab a few!

The tour was amazing! Rick was so full of knowledge but really easy going. We saw a couple bears and a bunch of salmon and whales! Would definitely do it again. I will recommend him to anyone heading to Sitka! Definitely 10/10
