This is my second visit for an unexpected dental problem. I had a crown come off a tooth last May 2025 an a co-worker recommended Smith Dental as a walk in type "urgent care" open 7 days a week. I stopped by an got right in an had the crown re-cemeted the Dentist told me it might not hold but it didbfor 7 months. It came off again an I went back to Smith Dental unannounced and got seen right away, this tine with another Dentist who re-cemented it for me and told me that the crowned tooth had not been properly done in Florida years ago an that is why it is not staying on. Hr also recommended a cleaning which I had scheduled. I would have given 5 stars except for two small details, I am a "cash' customer as I dont have Dental insurance, I think that every cash customer should be given an understanding of the bill or at least an estimate prior to being treated, I was somewhat surprised by the cost for a 10 minute reglue at $225.00. GA. In the future I will ask the xost before going back, other than that the people were very nice an professional, the place was spotlessly clean and friendly. The second detail that bothered me was the taking of another set of X-rays, I asked them why they were taking another set when they had just taken them 7 months ago an nothing had changed, I mean all Inwanted was mybcrown tonbe re-glued back on, I was told that the Dentist wanted to see them. I am sure I paid for these again to go along with the other set from my first visit.

My first review was great!! But I had a treatment plan and the first was good and the second one was almost great then the receptionist found the mistake and corrected it and said when you schedule the last treatment here's ur price.. I called to reschedule the last treatment today 11/29/25 and she quoted 1 price and said I had a treatment plan and this happened before and she said this is what I see without any farther look and I said I have it in front of me and she was just rude!!! I will never go here again and I did love this place. Never again.

I just left Smith Dental. Melissa cleaned my teeth so good. Staff was sooo nice and respectful to me. This is a very good dentist. I recommend that all patients recommend Smith Dental of Athens ga the place to go for dental care!!!!!!

I’m sorry but I have to change this review. This company never does what they say. After Dr Johnson (who no longer works there) pulled a jaw tooth and gave me a dry socket before I could get out of the parking lot. I was still numbed up but the pain was still excruciating. After he pulled the tooth, he asked the assistant to do an impression AFTER he pulled it. She put the impression compound in my mouth and told me to bite down. They left it too long in my mouth and not only did they get an impression, but they pulled the plug out of the socket. They also told me that I could pay off the debt with a hundred a month. And I agreed to it IF they didn’t charge me for any corrective procedures. I’ve been paying on my what thought was around 750-800 dollars and now it’s 1500.00 and I’ve been paying on it for months . Very deceitful and flat out lied to me that the other procedures were at no charge. Sandy told me this, but yet, she didn’t stand behind her word. Im sure I will have to go back to them for them to fit this bottom plate they made, but I really need a lawyer. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST FOR ANYTHING . They ripped me off.😳 The bottom plate is TOO big and I’ve left message after message then they send me a statement and they haven’t called me back to book an appointment, very disappointing
PS. The last dentist I saw was saw, and I couldn’t tell you his name 😰
