As you were aware, your case was set on the court's jury trial docket as the "only offer" that we ever received was prison time. On the eve of your jury trial, that State of Texas was still only offering prison time, I announced "Ready" to move to trial as we were set number 1 on the court's trial docket. Within minutes of announcing Ready, the State of Texas "folded" on your "prison only" offer and your case was resolved with deferred probation on a Class B misdemeanor - with no jail, no fine, no conditions.
Thank you for believing in me because many people would have just accepted a prison offer because they were scared. I know that you were scared and anybody would be.
However, just because you are charged with a very serious felony does mean that you have to "bow" to the State of Texas. Most district attorney are bullies and they try to scare everyone into compliance.

When you are up against the police, district attorney office and the judges, many of whom act like a third prosecutor, you do not need an attorney to add to your stress by trying to scare you and causing you additional trauma.
As I inform each client, I attempt to educate the client on exactly what the law is and what the State of Texas must prove in order to convict a person. Just because you have been arrested and charged with a crime doesn't mean that you will be convicted.
