As a first time mom, I was having a hard time with the idea of leaving my son when my maternity leave ended after 12 weeks. I am so grateful we found creative academy! I evaluated many options including an in home nanny and some larger day care chains, and am so glad we chose creative academy. They provide the personal touch you would expect with a nanny or in home day care with the structure extracurricular of a large organization. Ms. Angel and her team are the best. Ms. Angel has the academic background and experience caring for young children and you can see it is her passion every day in the way she takes care of our son. The intimate class sizes ensure my son gets the attention he needs and the structured classroom provides him with the social developmental skills that are so important for his age. All of his teachers are so special to our son and make his day fun and exciting. So grateful for Creative Academy! I read the reviews thinking “it can’t be this good!” But after touring, I trusted my gut and made one of the best decisions enrolling my kiddo. My son started just a couple weeks ago and in the first week, I saw so many improvements in his independence and speech (using words without being prompted). As a first time mom, going back to work was so tough but CA made the transition sooo much easier. We get pictures and updates throughout the day, he is eating nutritious snacks and meals, and at almost one year old he’s never once had diaper rash. We have been with Creative Academy about 9 months now, two days a week and have had a wonderful experience. Before we started, we took the tour. You could feel the pride that the director took in her facility. All teachers greeted her with smiles, no one changed what they were doing while we were walking through, the kids also were quite excited to see her. There was a lot of bright positivity flowing through the building.
The space the children are using is always very clean. The spaces are new, exciting and always changing for the kids. The teachers are always finding new ways for them learn through engaging in play. Whether that be a sensory table, a new texture with an art project, experiencing the nice weather outside; while they’re playing, there is a lesson that goes along with it. They have a multilingual curriculum. While English is the primary, Spanish and American Sign Language are also taught. This especially helps my son as he uses the signs he uses at daycare to help him communicate at home.
I cannot say enough about the staff. After attending a “big box” daycare with our older child, we were used to being essentially a number. This is not that kind of place. Ms. Angel and Mr. Ray are VERY involved in the growth and development of each child. They frequent the classrooms; they will help put little ones down for a nap, participate in activities, and sometimes just sit and play with them. We must stop by Ms. Angel’s office every day before we leave so my son can say goodbye! Even teachers that have not had my son yet will wave and call him by name on our way in or out. You can tell they find true joy in taking care of these kids. The staff also takes the best pictures! They are always updating BrightWheel with new pictures!
They also have a heavy focus on hygiene. The children are washing their hands upon entering, after each diaper change/bathroom, and before and after eating (potentially more often, but that’s just what I’ve personally witnessed). Any toy that goes in their mouths is removed from play, placed into a “dirty” bin and is cleaned for the next day. These practices not only create positive habits with the kids but also reduce the germs that are coming home – which we greatly appreciate!
The price is quite reasonable. The billing is weekly, and all admin things are done through BrightWheel.
Overall, I am so pleased with our decision to join the Creative Academy family. This experience has been leaps and bounds above what I expected.
