The BLS CPR and AED class that I took with John Ford was very informative and thorough. John made sure to go over any content that we may have missed or needed extra support remembering. He made the class light and even threw in some fun humor to create a supportive/inclusive environment. I felt very comfortable and knowledgable demonstrating CPR on both the adult and infant dummies. Thanks for leading a great class!
Seeing that you had a great class is what we definitely wished for, Goddess! We know how hard it is sometimes to find the best "CPR classes near me" in Oakland, but with our multiple training class locations, we try to make it convenient. Thus, we may have even closer class locations near you in 2 years, just in time for your renewal.

Never Received Any of my Cards
Paid and took the BLS CPR and AED Certification & First Aid Certification class on January 7, 2023. E-mailed the instructor and the support email provided and haven't received any responses since then besides the instructor saying that my cards have been issued when it wasn't.

Class: Adult, child, infant CPR and AED Basic Life Support (BLS) AHA
tl;dr The CPR class works as a refresher course, but didn't feel like it took enough time for a full training and the online First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen add-ons feel like a scam.
Disappointing. First off, they send an email when you register, that says you need to bring the $15.00 2020 BLS Provider eManual to class with you and then they don't even reference it once. (Ofc there's a link in the email, to what's likely an affiliate program, for purchase of said eManual.) There was no classroom instruction. We watched 4 or 5 short (like 5 min short) videos back to back with no discussion, took a 25 question test we were provided when we signed in, and did one round of skill sets on the adult and infant CPR dummies after we went over the test answers and corrected them together. I was the only student out of the class of seven that was handed the AED while training on the infant dummies, and one of the students was due any day and another had a newborn. :(. (I was also likely the only one recertifying, from what I could glean from the other students' comfort with the material.) Only two students did hands on AED on the adult dummies. It is supposed to be a 3 hr class. it took less than 1.5 The 1 PM class started at least 10 minutes late and I was home before 3 PM. The whole thing felt rushed. Yes, the instructor was good natured and easy going, but that's not what I was there for. If I hadn't already had CPR skills for over a decade, I don't think I would have left that class feeling confident in my training today. BTW, their BLS CPR + AED class is $59.95. The mandated 2yr refresher class (i.e. if you need to hold your CPR card for work) is also $59.95. SMH
The $19.95 online First Aid class add-on is less than 80 minutes of shakey, often badly focused video (like focused on the instructor's torso, ignoring the slide she's referencing), no test, no card. The OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Training add-on is a slideshow badly read verbatim by a text to voice program. No test, no card.

My husband recommended that get my BLS certification done here and I would recommend that others go here too. Our instructor, John was very helpful, encouraging, and engaging. He made us all feel comfortable by interjecting some humor while he was teaching. The class was ran efficiently and made learning cpr skills a bit easier.

I don't usually write reviews but this whole situation has made me upset. I need to get my CPR Certification done by the end of this month. I signed up for the July 2nd class to which it was rescheduled to July 16th. This did not work with my teaching schedule and tried to get a refund.
It took this company days to respond to my refund request and didn't even honor it. They said they would reschedule my class free of charge (?) and refund me $20. Which I didn't take because by that point I had moved my schedule around to make the class 2 weeks after my initial class.
Now just a few days before the rescheduled class I get the same email saying "Due to the instructors availability" we need to reschedule again. And of course to day I can't make.
I don't understand why they don't have substitute teachers for reasons like this. The customer service person Ina was really nice when I called right now and guided me on how to send a proper email to receive my refund. She also mentioned she would send my info in the Refund Group Chat they have.
Ina gets 5 stars, but the company gets 1.
