Outstanding service for drop curb
We hired County Roadways to install a drop curb, and they did an outstanding job. The entire process was smooth, from ringing for a quote to finalising the invoice and the quality of the work exceeded our expectations. Strongly recommend their services!
My whole driveway was ruined after burst pipe caused a very large underground flood. I chose County Roadways based on their proximity and their excellent reviews and they submitted a cost for my insurance. I wasn't disappointed as Andy and his team squeezed our job in before the xmas break, despite scheduling delays caused by the hideous weather. They were fast, clean and above all polite and professional. Nothing was too much. They even found the coolest area of freshly laid tarmac so our dog could get in and out of the house. Andy left the site clean and tidy but not until he'd given us care tips for fresh tarmac, which we will observe. The finished result looks excellent. I know some of my neighbours will be interested in speaking to Andy. I'd add photos but it is now dark outside.
Dropped Kerb
Very easy to deal with and the whole process was straightforward.
County sorted out the council application and the work was carried out when they said it would happen. An all round good experience.

Had a driveway fitted roughly 6 months ago, there work seemed good at the time.
Since then, all of the grouting crumbled between the kerbstones and has fallen out, they were contacted and said they would sort it the following week.
I have chased but no response and has now been weeks.
Double drop kerb
So pleased we found Andy and his team to lay our drop kerb. Everything was excellent and efficient, from start to finish. A job well done, quality products used and lovely finish to the path. Cleaned and tidied before leaving. Job was combined with our neighbour, so we have a nice double drop kerb that we are both well pleased with.
Very happy with the service received. All of the workers were so helpful and left clean and tidy at the end of every day. Where even very helpful when I changed my mind on the border half way through. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get a drop kerb or driveway completed with no hassle.

Job well done
I originally contacted County Roadways to look at getting a hole on my drive filled, but Andy persuaded me that I might as well have the whole drive tarmaced for not too much more. The Team worked well together, taking care of my neighbours cars which were still on the adjoining drive. Andy proved he was a hands-on manager by joining in the rakeing out the tarmac.
I live in quite a narrow street, and the team were alert to traffic wanting to get past lorries/machinery, which they moved as required. I haven't had any complaints from the neighbours.
At the end of the work, a good clean up was done and I almost couldn't tell they'd been there, apart from a new black driveway!

We have just had a 5 Drop Kerb installed and what a wonderful job they made. The workmen were very friendly and very informative. Their agent Andy guided us through the process with ease and I well recommend this company and its staff.

I have just had my dropped kerb completed, I was guided through my application by Andy from county roads he has a very professional and understanding of the process and takes all the stress out of your application. Having been let down by another contractor I contacted County Roadways. Andy dealt with our licence application for dropped kerbs and got the job done by his team efficiently and courteously and in a very timely manner, keeping in touch along the way. I only wish we had used them in the first place.
Andy and the team have been very professional and nothing has been too much trouble for them from doing the dropped kerb laying the driveway and putting down the stone and replacing the path. High quality and good standard of work carried out I would highly recommend Andy and the team to anyone even made sure that the fencing and gates were anti climb for. A disabled child

Andy and the team put the tarmac base on our drive and we agreed he would come back at a later date to put down the resin at an agreed price. There were also some issues to resolve from the initial work. I phoned him recently and he said they do not now work in Sidmouth. I have spoken to another contractor who tells me this is untrue and they are still working in the locality - their website also supports this. This is extremely unprofessional. We have already paid over £8000 and are left with having to find another contractor to finish the work. Unreliable.

I think the reply from Andy misconstrues the truth.
I have retained a copy of an e-mail from Andy in which he agreed the price to finish the work. Andy was aware that it would be a significant amount of time before we could have the resin laid. When I recently spoke to Andy about laying the resin he made no mention about a rise in price. If he had given us the option of a higher price to complete the work we would probably have accepted it. His reason for not completing the work was given as the fact that his business now works out of Plymouth and they do not carry out work in Sidmouth. Their website and information from other professionals seems to indicate otherwise.
We were not living at our address in Sidmouth when he carried out the work and we made payment in full as agreed within a few days of the completion of the work.
If Andy and his team felt they experienced a negative experience whilst carrying out their work it was not due to my wife and I as we had not moved into the property(recently purchased) at the time of the work and had minimal personal contact with them. All our conversations were convivial by phone and e-mail. If Andy is implying that we made his team members feel unsafe or his team experienced disrespectful attitudes from my wife and I he is lying and I would gladly take him to court if he persists with such comments.

Hi David, I’d like to respond to your negative review as I think it misses some very important points.
Firstly, we successfully carried out and invoiced for ALL the work that was ordered at the time, which included a dropped kerb and the tarmacadam driveway base.
We even applied for the council license to carry out the kerb alterations on your behalf, and had this granted before completing the dropped kerb.
ONLY the above work was paid for by you, and no other items were agreed on at the time, which was August 2022 (15 months ago).
Since that time there have been major price increases on the resin materials (as with most things this year) so the preliminary price we mentioned in 2022 for adding a future resin layer would no longer be sustainable for us.
Also we no longer do the majority of our work in your area, as previously mentioned, except some exceptional orders that were already agreed in the past.
Unfortunately I feel I must also mention the negative experience my team had whilst carrying out your works, which was in contrast to the other jobs we enjoyed carrying out in your local area.
We always reserve the right to decline any work on any property if our team members feel unsafe or have experienced disrespectful attitudes.
Delighted with the service and worm
From the first phone call for a quote everything went well. Always kept informed of what was going on and the dates of the work. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently, and to a high standard. The workmen were very courteous to other road users while working.
