Olivia is amazing! We couldn’t even be across the street from another dog but at our last session we were within 10 feet! She tried one approach and realized he needed something else. She did a bunch of research and it worked so well! His basic obedience is also SO MUCH better. He heels, sits, and lays down a lot more consistently. She doesn’t make you feel like you are doing things wrong. I loved how responsive she was as well. I’d text her an update about how our sessions throughout the week went and she would be so excited to hear about it. She would also give us feedback to try when I said he was struggling with something. I am so glad we can continue working with her more!
Olivia was truly a game changer for us. From the very first session, we felt supported, encouraged, and confident that we were in the best hands. She worked with us on name recognition, sit, down, place, recall, heel, and walking, and she explained everything in a way that actually made sense. Olivia was so patient, never rushed us, and always took the time to demonstrate each step until we felt comfortable doing it ourselves. She never once ended a session without making sure we felt confident and empowered to continue the training on our own. You can genuinely tell how much she cares about both the dogs and their owners. From the very beginning, Olivia was amazing at communicating—she always responded quickly and consistently sent us pictures and videos of Shiloh, which gave us so much peace of mind while he was with her. She gave honest, clear feedback and was very real with us about his progress, strengths, and what still needed work.
When Shiloh came home, Olivia took the time to do a full session with us, showing us everything he learned and walking us through how to continue the training ourselves. She answered every question thoroughly and in a way that was easy to understand.
Most importantly, she took incredible care of Shiloh—making sure he was comfortable, safe, and that his medication was given on time. You can tell she truly cares about the dogs she works with.

We took in a 4 month old shih tzu mix a little over a month ago and I was so overwhelmed and didn’t know where to start with his training. We tried watching YouTube videos but it doesn’t compare to the personalized attention of a trainer. On top of it, we have two cats and they couldn’t coexist in the same room. We found countryside canine and in just 3 sessions we've noticed so much improvement through the commands that Olivia taught us. She is truly incredible at what she does. Our dog Coco is pooped at the end of sessions because he's getting mental stimulation he wouldn't get without training. We’re blown away and feel super empowered to stay consistent with his training now. Our cats are slowly entering the same room as him and it’s great knowing all of our fur babies can have a quality life together. Thank you so much Olivia! We look forward to booking more sessions!

We have been using Olivia to watch our dogs for 3+ years and it’s always been a terrific experience. Olivia knows what she’s doing with dogs, and we always feel at ease knowing our dogs are in great care.
Olivia has been so wonderful with our sometimes challenging and hyper doodle :) we definitely keep sending him back whenever we travel. She is always incredibly responsive and even though he (the dog) can be shy and sometimes slow to warm up she was able to get him to play with her own dogs. He also Loves fetch and she makes sure to play with him and bonus is she keeps up the training that he needs. We can’t enough great things about Olivia and she was recommended by a friend who sent their new puppy to her for training . Not all dog trainers and boarders have the bedside manners Olivia has. She is truly a gem !
We are here to rave about Olivia and Countryside Canine! She has been taking care of, boarding and training out two German Shepherds for over two years. She has transformed our dogs into well behaved pets, and as trained us in handling them too :-). Olivia is AMAZING! My tldr to those considering board & train - it's really hard to be away from your pup for that long and we did go back and forth on the cost, but speaking ~5 months since the training with Olivia, I can definitively say that it is SO worth it. And if you're going to do board & train with anyone, Olivia is the best person for it!
Our goal for our 1.5 year old husky/shepherd mix was to stop leash pulling, getting distracted by other dogs, improved recall, and comfort being off-leash when we go on hikes - basically improved obedience overall. I didn't want to go with a bigger company because they seemed to work with 20+ dogs at a time (so I wasn't sure how much individualized attention our dog would get), and they didn't allow dogs to interact with each other (but I wanted our dog to improve on how he reacts / interacts with other dogs). Olivia came highly recommended to us by our friends who have an incredibly well-behaved dog.
From the first phone call consultation I knew I wanted to work with Olivia - she only works with 5-6 dogs at a time MAX and has 2 dogs of her own that will help correct dogs she trains. She wasn't pushy, and what I really appreciated was that she didn't make any sales-y promises.
She came to SF to pick up our dog, and the training took 4 weeks. Throughout the 4 weeks Olivia sent us text updates / a photo album that she periodically updates of his progress.
Olivia came to SF to drop him off after and we had a long training session where she trained us to keep up with what she's done. She sends very detailed instructions that are so helpful, and we made sure to follow them - super important to keep up with all the progress made, and very doable (15 min/day).
Now we are comfortable having our dog off-leash at the beach, on hikes, he doesn't pull when we walk, he listens and returns to us if he's getting a bit too rowdy with other dogs - quality of life has improved so much thanks to Olivia!
Absolutely love Olivia! She does amazing with our dog, Nala, who can be a handful sometimes! So glad we found countryside canine… literally the only place we will let our baby stay!
Olivia knows her stuff. She not only helped me with a few doggie behavior issues, she has become a home away from home for my Goldendoodle when I’m out of town. It has been life changing to have a place I can trust that Chico will be happy and comfortable while I’m away! She is the best. If you not using her, you’re missing out.

Olivia has been our dog sitter for a couple of years now. Our English shepherd doesn't get along with all dogs and we don't have a lot of people we can trust to watch him. Finding Olivia has been such a relief and a blessing for us! She knows exactly how to handle our dog and other dogs to keep them safe, and we don't have to worry at all when he stays with her. We have tried other dog sitters before and our dog has come back stressed out. When we drop him off with Olivia, he gets so excited to see her and her dogs! And when we pick him up, he is happy and relaxed, and we can tell he had a good stay. She seems to genuinely care for him, and he seems to love her as well. She also watched our senior dog who was ill, and she took great care to cater to his needs. I would recommend Olivia to anyone looking for a good dog sitter.
Olivia is the best trainer and boarder. My two dogs love her. She has trained my lab puppy and my frenchie for two years. She has a very positive and assertive coaching style that works very well for my dogs. She also gives them a lot of care, love and affection which is important to me. I highly recommend Olivia.
We can’t say enough wonderful things about Olivia! Over the last 2.5 years she has trained both of our dogs, Toby and Louie, and has also watched them countless times. I won’t take my dogs anywhere else! The attentive care and the love Olivia has for the dogs speaks for itself. She caters to your needs and even sends photos while you are away with a brief description of how the dogs did for the day all while being trained at the same time! I would give 6 stars if I could. Boarding and training are amazing. My dogs always learn something new each time. Customer for life!
My experience with Olivia’s board and train program for my Doberman was absolutely outstanding.
