In leu of a student loan that defaulted I was receiving numerous voicemails and text messages daily from an agency. This past fall, I began receiving harassing and threatening phone calls from a debt collection agency on a fraudulent account that I had no knowledge of. There are a lot of scams attempting to use scare tactics in order obtain personal information from unsuspecting victims. When I attempted to get further information from the agency to verify who they are and to verify the validity of their claim, they were uncooperative and met my inquiries with aggression and threats. I contacted Consumer Rights Law Firm and spoke with Scott, who was quick to listen and take action. I can’t recommend them enough!! I was getting calls and emails about an old account at pure barre that I had closed, they were stating that I have over an overdue balance of $1,100. My first big fear was that it was going to affect my credit, the second was that I didn’t want to pay off that balance when I knew I had closed it, and I also didn’t want to pay large attorney fees on top of what I owed on the account. I reached out and Attorney Derek D let me know that he would send a cease and desist letter and have them erase by balance AND have them pay my attorney fees. I had to do NOTHING!!! I was so grateful that everything was explained so well to me, and communicated with me during the entire process. It gave me such a sense of relief.
