Compassionate care has empathetic and professional people working there. I lost my beloved daughter/companion Red last Tuesday and they were able to take a drop off on the same day. Very affordable while also offering a more eco-friendly cre(aqua)mation. It also yields more of your pet's remains due to the process! They will take care of you and your loved ones.
Unfortunately my elderly cat passed away. I immediately called Compassionate Care because I remembered how amazing they were with my mother when her fur baby passed a few years ago. They were also fresh on my mind as I just referred my friends family a week prior due to the loss of their cat. It was no surprise when they reported back with rave reviews. When I came back with my cat, Jim and his staff were exactly the same as they had been. Sweet, kind, COMPASSIONATE, patient, informative, efficient, and this list just goes on and on. Even their pricing is fair eliminating affordability tension during your stressful time. I am forever grateful for their work and kindness.

It’s been a month now, and I feel like I owe this place a review.
My 12-year-old dog passed away last month during a long holiday weekend. Everything happened so suddenly that we never truly had the chance to prepare ourselves to say goodbye. Just like most people, we never imagined we would one day need to research funeral services for someone we loved so deeply.
Despite the holiday, Allen was still able to make arrangements for us and made sure everything was handled with care and compassion. In such a painful and overwhelming moment, that meant a lot.
I truly believe aquamation is a beautiful and gentle way to handle the transition after life. To me, it feels like a way of creating new life from life itself. After spending 12 years together as family, what I have left is nothing but gratitude.
I think the final expression of love is not trying to hold onto someone forever, but having the courage to return them to Mother Nature , just as they once came to us from the universe in the beginning.
This experience also reminded me of an exhibition called Death Is Not the End. One installation asked a question through a mirror: “Is death simply the disguise of a new beginning?”
I think I finally know the answer now.
I could not possibly have had a better, more considerate more caring experience. When I learned I would have to put my baby down, I called to gather information and got Alan. He was with us every step of the way - even going so far as to come in on a day off and help us with our girl. I have been recommending this place to everyone I know. I am so grateful for Alan and his team laying my beautiful girl to rest. Five stars isn't enough for this review.

Decent cost-effective service, except it was hard to be in there for long. Smelled awful like death and ammonia upon drop off, even from the door. I have prepared specimens for the Roosivelt Wildlife Collection as part of my degree as a wildlife biologist, so believe me I know the smell of dead animals. It made me a little nervous but I went through with it anyways. I wish I could've seen the machines where the process is done for peace of mind, but on both drop-off and pick-up they said I could not view them. Like I said the service was fine, just the smell and the inability to get a tour of the place put me off a bit because I like to know that my pet is in good hands.

Odor concerns are not something families ever report to us, and we work very hard to maintain a clean, respectful, and properly managed facility. As a licensed, high-volume pet crematory serving families throughout New York, we follow strict procedures for sanitation, refrigeration, handling, and timely processing. That said, we take your feedback seriously and will always review our facility conditions when a concern is brought to our attention.
Regarding tours, there are times when we cannot allow visitors into active operational areas due to insurance, safety, privacy, and processing considerations. This is never meant to create concern or prevent transparency. When conditions allow, we are happy to schedule a proper facility tour so families can see our aquamation equipment, our process, and the care we put into every pet entrusted to us. I recently had to put my 16 yr old Feebee and my 16 year old Forito to sleep...I had Dr fisse come to my home with great compassion and supported me through the process.
She then took them both to compassionate care to Allen to handle my babies with love and care.
I chose to have them both brought back to me by courier.
My little boy Forito was going to be alittle late returning to me because there was a delay of a new shipment of boxes coming in..
Allen made sure this was taken care of promptly...so he brought my Forito back to me himself. It showed above and beyond personal loving care.
We spent some time talking about our loving family members and sharing stories, which made the process more personal and compassionate for me.

I had absolutely no qualms about leaving our bird, byway of my late GrandMother’s pet, in their heartwarming hands.
What I do appreciate is that they offer various urn options and keepsake eco-alternatives, that deems worthy of sustaining the memory of your pet.

Allan and Jim helped us thru our time of need as our dog was killed suddenly by an Emergency vet located on the LIE in Plainview.. After going thru trauma and such a bad experience, the staff at Compassionate Care comforted us and walked us thru the process which seemed more humane than conventional cremation. We received our precious dog within a week and again appreciated the red carpet treatment and the caring, genuine service that we received.. Highly recommended.
When I brought my beloved pet maltese Frankie here, I chose this service over a traditional cremation because I couldnt bear the thought of him being in flames. I was heartbroken and this decision meant everything to me.
When I arrived, I placed Frankie on the small alter they provide. Allen, the owner, came over to me right away. It was clear that Frankie did not pass under normal circumstances-he had been attacked. Allen paused, gently looking at Frankie and shaking his head. After a moment, he softly asked what had happened.
When I explained, I could immediately see the compassion in his response. His eyes were soft, almost tearful, and he spoke to me in a calm soothing voice. He assured me that he would take special care of Frankie.
At that point, I broke down. In such a painful moment, that kindness and reassurance meant everything to me.
Allen truly kept his word. As difficult as the situation was, I left feeling comforted, knowing Frankie was in caring and respectful hands. Im deeply grateful for the compassion shown to both of us during such a heartbreaking time.
They were extremely compassionate. I originally was going to Hartsdale, but they don't perform cremation anymore.

Such a compassionate and professional company. From the moment I called in my beloved cat cheetah was picked up in less than 45min. We got his ashes today and it meant the world to know he was laid to rest peacefully and handed over to us with care in his own beautiful urn. Thank you for making the process a bit easier.

Allen and Jim were very kind, professional, and caring from initial Inquiry to final pick up of my daughter’s bearded dragon that she cared for over 9 years since the age of 5. It felt like a sincere funeral home for pets. We would use their services agin in the future.
It was unfortunate that I met such wonderful people under such sad circumstances. However, I am blessed and fortunate to have made their acquaintance. Losing one of our fur babies is never easy, but certainly, both Alan and Jim did everything in their putter to ease our pain and to make the process as seamless as possible. I wish more people knew about Aquamation as an alternative to cremation. It’s so much better for the environment and I think it is much more of a humane alternative. My family and I are more than satisfied with the services that Compassionate Care provided. I highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of such essential services.
