Both Raheem Thomas and Pedro Felix of Compass did an outstanding job helping me sell my late father’s NYC co‑op apartment and successfully completing the transfer of the share certificate, all within a month and a half, especially considering that I don’t live in NYC. After my father passed, I needed to sell his co‑op apartment shares, but the first attorney and realtor I hired, whom I worked with for 15 months made no progress with the board. It was frustrating and emotional, and I eventually had to let them go. I’m truly grateful that Compass took on my case, especially given how difficult the board was to deal with. Pedro and Reheem handled every personality and every challenge with professionalism, patience, and deep expertise. They really know their jobs, and I couldn’t have asked for better realtors during such a sensitive process. I can see why Compass is a top real estate firm because their realtors are exceptional, and I highly recommend them.

AVOID Compass Realty. I am suing them. And winning. Without a lawyer. CO Case 24CV76. Defeated their motion to dismiss. No formal training. The company maintains abysmal standards of professional conduct for their realtors and cares only about money IMO. Forget your rights, forget your privacy, everybody out of the way of their sort’s selfish ambition to turn a profit. Is my experience. Their agent was caught trespassing and criminally invading privacy. No apology - she rolled her eyes and sneered at the person. That was summer 2023. Triggered a cascade of destruction in my life, still reeling, trying to recover. Things now will never be the same for me, family, friends. The local Compass office even lied to the deputy sheriff serving process on them, and sent the Plaintiff on a wild goose chase. Americans deserve better than the Amirah Counts (agent’s name) among us, better than defense lawyers like their Jack Stokan, who get richer the longer we fight - why would he advise settling? What does it matter to them if they continue to be like a wrecking ball in my life or yours - they’re busy making major bank while their countryman claiming harm continues to suffer and suffer. Worth billions, they are, could make it right, would mean merely an insurance claim and tax write-off for Compass. Tiny blip, almost regardless of amount. Though I feel certain their leaders, those who could fix it and perhaps would, don’t even know about it. Too much lawyer pride and ego in the way. Shame on Compass leaders, Robert Reffkin, Ori Allon, Kalani Reelitz, all of them, and the entire bankrupt culture of reckless business masked by blissful ignorance that they represent. If you’re home-shopping, go small, private, a boutique agency - do our country and children a favor and steer far and wide clear of corporate rot companies like Compass and Coldwell Banker.

I am a Minnesota homeowner who listed my property with Compass RE NY LLC (Eagan/Twin Cities) in March 2026. From the start, it was clear that the interests of the brokerage took precedence over those of the client. My listing was launched on MLS 12 days before the date I had approved in writing, with unresolved marketing and presentation issues. The listing agent was absent for the first 2½ days the property was live on the market and had not visited the property in the nine days prior to launch. I was told I could not rent the property during the listing period. The contract said otherwise. After getting nowhere with the agent, sales manager Linda Rogers, and managing director Richard Tucker, I escalated directly to CEO Robert Reffkin. He responded only to defer the matter back to Richard Tucker. Tucker never responded. What followed was months of missed deadlines, ignored communications, and broken commitments at every level of the organization. I submitted a zero-dollar settlement offer with documented expenses. Compass’s response was to demand $5,000 and require me to sign a gag order. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

We had a very bad experience with Compass and the unprofessional attitude and lack of experience with current market valuations. Our realtor, Avi Alkotzer tried to get us to market our rental at 4500 dollars and we knew it was worth more. We got 4800 eventually after he failed to secure many interested potential tenants. After insisting on his commission prior to us even having secured funds from the tenant we asked to explain how it works as we live full time in Florida. His attitude was grotesque and silly. He told us “we don’t work for free” when no one asked anyone to do anything for free. Skip Avi if you want a real professional and not an entitled blowhard who doesn’t know the market in my opinion.

I am writing this to share my deep dissatisfaction with the service provided by Jason Lee at Compass. My experience was defined by a significant lack of integrity and transparency. I found Jason to be dishonest and felt that key information was consistently misrepresented throughout our dealings. It became clear that his primary motivation was personal gain rather than the client’s best interest, reflecting a level of greed that is unacceptable in this industry. I would strongly caution anyone considering working with Jason Lee to seek an agent who operates with the honesty and professionalism one should expect from a firm like Compass.

Never received a call back and I keep calling them to get a hold of literally anyone at this point, to literally no avail.

There was a woman named susan chung on tiktok (Susan Chung, nycmade_easy is the name.on Tiktok), advertising for various apartments. Pictures were very convincing and she even had her picture posted with a black dress. So I was interested in one of the rent stabilized apartments posted on pacific street; she had a specific address. She requested $350 for the processing and I thought it was okay and then she requested an additional amount of funds. On the day of move in, no one showed up at the building, and I actually talked to the landlord and he said, this is a scam. I called compass realty directly and they said that they have no listings on pacific street , and that I should report this woman on tiktok. I was significantly scammed and whether the person was a fraud or posted it for personal use meaning doing something on her own, Susan chung's name was used and this the name of company she used: Compass Realty; she even gave me a receipt with compass realty stamped on it. Be careful of this company.They are easily duplicated by people that are advertising multiple residences in their name.

Our experience working with this Compass listing agent. Zulleyma Alvarez, was extremely disappointing and raised serious concerns about transparency and professional ethics in the transaction. We submitted a full-price offer at asking, which was accepted, and we proceeded in good faith by scheduling and paying for an inspection. Throughout this time, we were never informed that other offers were still being considered or that we were in a multiple-offer situation. After several days of no communication, we were suddenly told the sellers were moving forward with another offer, and we were not given a fair opportunity to counter or submit a best and final offer. Real estate transactions rely on transparency, communication, and adherence to professional ethics. The way this situation was handled lacked transparency and did not reflect the level of professionalism one would expect when dealing with a brokerage like Compass. Situations like this are incredibly frustrating for buyers, who are making significant financial decisions and spending money on inspections and due diligence based on the understanding that all parties are acting in good faith and communicating honestly. I hope Compass takes situations like this seriously and holds their agents to the professional and ethical standards that clients expect from a firm of their reputation.

Working with Kevin Loh was an incredibly unprofessional experience. While he was initially pleasant, communication completely ceased once we submitted our full application and sensitive documents. Despite promising on two separate occasions to follow up by the end of the day, he ghosted us entirely. I eventually had to call his office just to verify his employment status because the lack of responsiveness was so concerning. Being left in the dark after sharing personal information is unacceptable. I would not recommend his services.

Do not trust them to show up to your tour. Make sure you follow up because they will not update you or get access to units you request to see. I requested to see a unit weeks in advance, holding out to see this place. I only found out that they did not get access to the unit DAY OF the tour after sending multiple messages confirming the tour was even on. Such a waste of time.

This was my first time returning to the housing market in five years, and I was honestly very nervous about the process. I was afraid of scams, being misled, and not knowing who to trust. From day one, Brianna Torkel was professional, courteous, and incredibly patient with me. She maintained consistent communication, answered all of my questions, and was very understanding of my anxiety. I never once felt rushed, ignored, or left wondering what was happening. Everything moved in a timely manner, and she made sure I felt comfortable and informed every step of the way. I do not recommend Compass broker CHRISTINE MARIANI Based on my experience, she was unethical, untrustworthy, and failed to advocate for her clients. She misrepresented information, did not follow through on her professional obligations, and repeatedly failed to return calls, texts, or emails when serious issues required her involvement. Most concerning, she continued to act on behalf of a landlord despite the failure to return a legally owed security deposit, even after a written agreement and a clear deadline had passed. Once the issue escalated, communication stopped entirely. It became clear that protecting her own commission took priority over client accountability, transparency, and basic professional responsibility. A broker should act with integrity, responsiveness, and concern for the safety and financial security of the people they represent. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering working with this broker to proceed with caution and to seek representation elsewhere.
