Chumley was fantastic! We got 6 bids and theirs was very reasonable but here’s what really made them stand out:
- Jackson did a thorough inspection and found things no other company noticed (like a beam slipping off a shim)
- He created a video describing the issues and recommended fixes (this was so helpful because it’s difficult to remember what we talked about and I could easily share the video with my spouse)
- Jackson answered all of our questions and then the work was scheduled for the following week (not 2-3 months out like some other companies’ schedules)
- The repair team was friendly and respectful, showed up on time, and got the work done in 1 day!
10/10 experience - they really knocked our socks off! With integrity and customer service like that, I only wish they did more so we could use them for other projects!

We noticed that the garage ceiling in our 1970’s ranch house was sagging, so I called Chumley for an estimate. I’ve never experienced this sort of home repair before so I had no idea what to expect.
Jackson came out to give us an estimate. The problem was a 5-6” crack in the 22’ beam in the attic across the width of our garage. He immediately sent a team to install temporary supports, scheduled the repair, and was responsive to our questions.
Taylor and Kenny spent 3 days doing the repair. First they carefully brought the beam back together, which remedied the sagging ceiling. Then, with minimal disruption to the rest of the ceiling, were able to install 22’ supports on both sides of the beam. They offered suggestions on how to proceed with any future garage projects that might involve the attic.
It is extremely nerve wracking to have a problem with the structural integrity of your ceiling, but Jackson, Taylor and Kenny were so kind, knowledgeable and efficient…I knew we were in great hands. In my experience, it’s not common to have contractors who are excellent at their jobs, but also great communicators. I’d recommend them without hesitation.

I had a really good experience with them. They came out for an estimate and gave me what I believe was the first honest assessment and quote I'd received. They didn't try to upsell me or recommend work I didn't actually need.
This was the fourth company I'd had out, and with the others, I always felt like they were focused on making the most money from the job rather than finding a reasonable solution to the problem. One company even quoted me nearly $60,000 more than Chumley for a different solution to the same problem.

Was a great experience around! Cody was able to do take the vision in my head and make it a reality. We needed our back steps completely replaced and then added a small porch/ landing along with new steps.
